Your participation in a research study is needed!

Are you an immigrant woman? (Did you come to Canada

as a refugee or an economic class or a family class immigrant)?

Do you live in Ottawa?

Have you had pain for more than 6 months that affects your life?
Are you willing to talk about it?
If so, I would like to hear from you!

I am a graduate student who would like to talk to you about your experiences and understandings
around chronic pain as part of my studies.

There are no right or wrong answers; just your viewpoint.

Your participation is voluntary and will consist of 60-90 minutes in a one-to-one interview
across one or two sessions. I will conduct the interview in English and protect your anonymity
and confidentiality.

While being part of this study may not benefit you directly, the information you provide may
contribute to better understanding of chronic pain as well as improving prevention and
management of chronic pain for immigrant women in the future. At the end of interview, you
will be asked to give a flyer to your caregiver, if you agree.

For more information and/or participation in the study please contact:

Nasim Khatibsemnani, Ph.D. Candidate, Population Health

Interdisciplinary School of Health Sciences, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Ottawa

Tel: (613) 562-5800 Ext. 2827, Email: nkhat031@uOttawa.ca

To be eligible to participate, you must be 18 years of age or older.

Eligible participants will be selected on a first come, first served basis.
