Wehrle UART Interface

Steps:
1. Make sure that the sensor is connected to the UART interface and also the UART interface
is connected to your computer.

2. Start the Wehrle UART Interface.exe program.

3. After starting the program Wehrle UART Interface.exe, a window shows up from where
you can connect to the sensor, read the serial data and see a real-time flow-temperature
chart.

Connecting the sensor

1. In order to connect the sensor to the computer you can press the Connect
button (Fig. 7 2) in order to connect the sensor manually. After pressing the
Connect button a panel will appear from where you can set up the connection
to the sensor.

2. Select the corresponding Port Name (Fig. 8 - 1) (the port name might change so
verify that you connect to the right port), also check that the Baud Rate (Fig. 8 -
2) is 9600 and the Parity (Fig. 8 - 3) is None.

3. Press the Connect (Fig. 8 - 4) button, if the connection is successful the panel
will disappear and the status (in the lower left corner) will change to Reading
(the serial communication starts automatically). (There are 3 possibilities (Fig.
9 - 5): Disconnected with red background, Connected with blue background and
Reading with green background when the sensor is connected and the serial
communication is active).

1. The program is composed from two pages:

a. Reading (Fig. 9 - 1)
In this page you can make the connection with the sensor, see the
telegrams, export the data to a fi le, read and change some
memory variables and set up an automatic save to a fi le at a
given interval of time.
b. Chart (Fig. 9 - 2).
This page allows you to track the flow and temperature values in a real
time chart.
2. The flow and the temperature values measured by the sensor (Fig. 9 - 3).
3. It is possible to Start/Stop the measurement by pressing the Start/Stop
button; save the existing data by pressing the Export button; clear the read
data by pressing the Clear button (Fig. 9 4).
4. It is also possible to automatically save the data from the sensor by
choosing the save location path, the time interval and pressing the Start
Saving button (Fig. 9 6).

Note: If the Clear is checked after every save (time interval variable) the
previous responses from sensor are deleted but the chart will not be aff ected.

5. You can read the telegrams from sensor in hexadecimal or converted or

both.
6. In Tools menu you can save the chart image which you will fi nd in the
Charts folder in the root directory.
7. In the upper side of the program you will fi nd a panel from where you
can read or change a few settings of the sensor like measurement rate, pulse
generation etc. In the fi rst row of text boxes there are input values which you
can write in memory by typing a value and pressing enter key. In the last
row of text boxes you can fi nd values that are inside the memory

Chart
It is possible to follow the flow and the temperature on a chart (Fig. 11).
1. To go to the Chart page select the Chart tab (Fig. 9 - 2).

2. To start viewing the sensor data on chart press the Start button (Fig. 10).
