PEACE BE WITH YOU. As the Father has sent me, so I send you. The new life in Christ
that we celebrate at Easter is given to us in Baptism so that our life will never
be the same. We receive the Holy Spirit and are filled with Gods grace to be
sent forth to fulfill Gods will, just as Jesus did. The goal of On Mission for
The Church Alive! is for us to be renewed in our baptismal mission to go
forth as followers of Jesus and lead others to Him. How can you share the
peace and love of God with those who need it most so that their lives can be
transformed? Visit onmissionchurchalive.org to stay involved.

The Food Bank Committee would like to extend a sincere thank you to the
men and women of The Knights of Columbus, The Columbiettes and The
Lion and Leo Clubs for the delicious spaghetti dinner that was held on Palm
Sunday to raise money for the Food Bank. Also, thank you to everyone who
attended and donated food to help support it. It is greatly appreciated.
The Food Bank receives many generous donations from St. Vincent DePaul, the many service
organizations here at St. Damien, as well as many individuals from our parish. We wish to
thank each and everyone of you for your continued support of the Food Bank. We couldnt do
this without all of you!

OUR LADY OF LOURDES

On February 11, 1958, fourteen year old Bernadette
Soubirous (St. Bernadette) told her mother that a
lady (The Blessed Virgin Mary) spoke to her in the
cave of Massabielle, while she was gathering firewood
with her sister and a friend, and that she was wearing a
white robe with a blue girdle, a white veil, and on each
foot was a yellow rose. In her hands was a rosary. In
subsequent visitations she heard the lady speak to
her, saying, I am the Immaculate Conception, and
asked that a chapel be built there. The Lady had ap-
peared in Lourdes, France on seventeen more occa-
sions that year, until the climax revelation of Our Lady
of the Immaculate Conception took place. The Feast
Day is February 11th.
This report, relating to the stained glass window to the
left, was prepared by Decision Point class member
Alyssa Guzik.
