To the Review Committee of Linfield College:

Hailee Rogers is my student at Glencoe High School in Hillsboro, Oregon. She has been in my art classes for two
consecutive years in Art 2 and Art 3 and is an active member of our creative community.

I first met Hailee as a junior in my intermediate art class among mixed grade levels. She adapted to an active role in
the studio by starting out with the basic assigned projects and evolving them into more expansive artworks filled
with a personal vision. She would take the given concepts and constraints in each lesson and throw her own spin on
them after intense discussion with her peers. A typical example of her work is when the class was intended to work
on a painted self-portrait using mirrors for visual reference. For that project, after much conferring with her peers
and trying out several color palettes she completed a very accurate likeness with decorative elements that added her
own elaborations onto the project. Her work shows ambition, thoughtfulness, and an investigation of the material
properties of art materials.

Perhaps Hailees most defined personality characteristic is her active enthusiasm and sense of playfulness,
particularly in supporting her peers. She has the nurturing qualities of a teamwork organizer and a willingness to
apply herself to challenging situations. This is the reason why I think she will excel academically in the future,
particularly in the areas of nursing and pre-med studies. Whatever her future focus, I was very pleased to have her
determination and attitude in my classroom. Please place her in a position with full confidence in her abilities. Feel
free to contact me by phone if you have any questions as to her character.

Sincerely,

Chris Hagerty
