To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing to express my sincere interest in an Intensive Care Unit position, and why I believe
the characteristics I possess are well-suited, not only for this unit, but also for Banner University Medical
Center, Main Campus. After completing several clinical rotations at Banner, I was convinced that this
was the hospital where I wanted to work.

During my time in the facility, I was impressed with how precisely the care provided by staff
members resonated the mission, vision, and values of Banner; that is, the delivery of personalized, quality
healthcare to patients while establishing a supportive, education-focused, and compassionate
environment. My ability to effectively communicate, multi-task, show compassion, and work on a team,
coupled with my constant desire to learn and personable attitude, complements Banners mission and
values which will make me a valuable member of the interdisciplinary team. Additionally, I feel as
though Banner provides an environment suitable for personal and professional growth and development,
which is important to me as I begin my career.

My educational endeavors include acquiring my Associates of the Liberal Arts after attending
Pima Community College Northwest Campus. During my time at the Northwest campus I served as the
Student Council Vice President and President during the 2013-2015 academic year, and was elected as the
student representative for the Inter-Campus Council. These opportunities helped to further develop my
leadership abilities by requiring me to identify what difficulties students encountered while on campus,
and what changes could be instituted to eliminate these barriers. I then acted as a liaison, communicating
the necessary changes to the administrative council who then created funding, policies, or guidelines
which helped to establish the identified change. During my last semester at Pima Community College, I
was awarded the All-Arizona Academic Scholarship for demonstrating high levels of academic
achievement and leadership ability.

My more recent academic achievements will include finishing the coursework necessary to
receive my Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) at the University of Arizona, where I am also part of
the Student Nurse Association. Recently, I completed a 5-week preceptor shift in a PCCU where I
contributed more than 188 hours of clinical work and professional shadowing. I am confident that my
education, clinical experience (particularly in the PCCU), and individual characteristics including my
organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to critically think, and work ethic make me a strong
candidate for this position and will allow me to excel on your unit. Attached is a copy of my resume with
additional information. Please feel free to contact with any additional questions or requests. Thank you
for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,
