WANT IT? WELL WING IT!

I. Summary
We, Infinite Delta, would like to suggest Walmart to use one of our many brilliant ideas.
Our idea consists of using Drones to deliver groceries. We will call this system Walmart
Air Delivery. Grocery shopping in store, is very time-consuming, and frustrating. There
are many steps to take while you go out and buy your needs. First, you need to make a
groceries list, then go to store, look for your needed items, bundle it all up in the cart, check
out in the long, horrifying lines and drive home. Most people like to spend their time with
their families to go grocery shopping at the same time, especially before holidays or when
there is an event going on within the family. It will be a great advantage to use Drones as a
delivery system. The customer could just stay home, in comfort, and order grocery items
with just one call or click on the website. It is a very efficient invention, which will benefit
both your company and customers. We have Walmart everywhere across the United States
and in other countries. In fact, 85% of people live at least 5 miles from your store.

II. Statement of Problem

Grocery shopping can be very time-consuming, even if you make a list. Traveling back and
forth to the store, will take time as well. Plus dealing with seemingly endless aisles to find
what youre looking for, then waiting minutes in the stressful checkout lines. Therefore, 11
percent of 22,000 grocery shopping surveyed Americans are taking advantage of online
grocery shopping. Experts expect the numbers will continue to climb, as online grocery
shopping becomes popular. Online shopping and a delivery system will save your customer
time and reduce unnecessary spending on transportation. Also, it will be a great advantage
for the disabled, to have your products shipped to them. With air delivery, customers do not
have to drive to the store, making the roads safer. Also online shopping is beneficial, as the
shoppers could compare prices and filter each products with interest. Walmart Air Delivery
will make customers shopping convenient and efficient. We have experience with handling
Drones with Amazon. It has been a beneficial thing for them.

III. Objectives

Our objective is to make a product that will benefit your company. We will make one of the
best drones out there with our skill that is eligible for the use of Walmart Air Delivery. With
our high technology drones, we assure you and your customer satisfaction which also our
goal. We will design a drone with high quality materials, software security, and physical
security. We will use Carbon Fiber as drones main material, which is the best material for
drone in store so far. It assure its physical security. Also, using Pennie Express as the
software security will protect the drones for its anti-hacking solution.

IV. Technical Approach

The problem with drones and drone delivery, is that there are a lot of regulations. The FAA
has issued these regulations to the businesses that want to promote and take part in drone
delivery. The design that we attend to approach, is a drone that weighs less than 55lbs, to
override the FAA Regulations. For this to be possible, we would use carbon fiber material, it
is the best choice because its light weight and durable. Another major issue, the drones must
have their own pilots meaning, it is impossible to input directions or a destination to the
drone for it to fly pilotless. To be possible, we will have tend to hire pilots. These piolets will
be designated to their own drones. Most likely, these pilots will either be military veterans or
licensed professional piolets. For safety, theses piolets will be tested every two years. As
said previous, Drones cannot fly over anyone not involved in the transaction nor can it fly
over 400ft. The solution to this is to provide the drone with sensors of the altitude for it not
to fly over 400ft, as well as for avoiding flying over anyone who is not involved in the
transaction. For the budget of the drone we chose a drone that costs $11,995.00 that is way
cheaper than other drones being used to deliver the drone we are taking about is the Freefly
ATLA 6. Although this drone is mostly used to shoot video we it has a payload of 15 pounds

without a camera so that would mean we would not include a camera instead powerful
+sensors that can be controlled by the pilot. Removing the camera would help it to carry
heavier loads ass cameras can way up to 15 pounds.

1. Making our product more light weight by improving it with a carbon fiber base. Instead
of using a heavy camera, we would also improve the camera to a more light weight and
efficient camera. Also, we will install sensors that the pilot can sense to be able to fly.
2. Employ a structured approach is beneficial to the design because it would make it lighter
as well as maneuver over the FAA regulations.
3. The main problem is dealing with FAA regulations. We would generate a solution by
figuring out a way that would satisfy their regulations, and work in our behalf with drone
delivery.
4. Coming together as a team to find a way to maneuver over the FAA regulations due to the
camera that the pilot would use to have full time access during flight and introducing the
concept of sensors instead of the camera.
5. The best alternative would be a camera that would weigh less.
a) The design process is having a drone that weighs less than 55lbs can pick up loads up to
15 pounds and would have sensors instead of a heavy camera.
b) The first alternative would be a light weight camera the second alternative would be high
tech sensors and the third alternative would be automatic flying but the best would be light
weight cameras.
c) Of course a lot of design and engineering would go into the sensors.
d) Experiments that we would conduct would be testing the sensors enough for the FAA to
give us the go on it.
e) Most of the alternatives dont really satisfy the design as we are trying to make the drone
as light as possible.
f) The solution would probably rank as our least possible outcome unless we do not get the
FAA regulation.
g) All the results can be possible it is only the matter of how we would approach the FAA to
let us do our design.

V. Project Management:

a. We will test every concept of the way we plan to pilot the drone weather its free fly, sensors,
or light weight camera. We would test how all the functions affect or help the drone with the
flight and decide which one would the FAA would approve of. Testing the drone by making
test flights where there is no people around and taking notes of the time and flaws that the
drone would have.

b. Kevin would design the drone concept and make any improvements to it, Adam would make
the security software for the drone, and Kenneth would assemble the drone and estimate
maintenance.

VI. Deliverables
Our proposal to our sponsor Walmart is to provide a drone to deliver Walmarts products to
their customers in a fast and convenient way so the customer can shop and be delivered the
product from home. The drone would weigh less than 55lbs and be cheaper than other drones as
well as it being secure from people who try to hack the drone as well as being very durable and
well design for it to fly by sensors. In doing that the drone would take heavier objects as the
sensors would replace the camera. The whole concept would save the company billions in
delivery costs as well as fast delivery to the customers (in at least 30 minutes).
