By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:

a) Cut and paste each common noun in its correct categories. (people, places,

1. T gives several word cards to three pupils in each group.
2. T draws four columns on the board. The pupils that get the word cards need to
paste it in the right categories. They need to ask themselves, is it a thing? Is it
an animal? Is it a place? or is it a person?
3. Discuss the answers. Ask what the pupils can see from the set induction activity.
4. Next, teacher gives a manila card to each group. Each group need to create a

nouns map as creative as they can.
5. Do gallery walk. Teacher chooses who get the most words listed correctly and
creative.
6. Gives a WS. Pupils need to cut and paste the words in their book. This time, they
need to be able to identify nouns and proper nouns. Tip: remind student that
proper nouns must start with capital letters.
