Dance Teaching Experience

Special Needs Dance Class- Seton Hill University, Greensburg, PA Jan 2013 to May 2016
Teach children with Special Needs through dance. Levels of disabilities varied. I have gained an extensive
amount of patience and learned helpful techniques to better communicate with the students.

Seton Hill University Dance Academy - Greensburg, PA Feb 2013 to May 2016
Substitute dance teacher for the SHU dance academy, working with children ranging from 3 to 18 years old.
Taught various styles of dance and gained more teaching experience working with new dancers.

Marguerites Academy of Dance- Erie, PA Aug 2007 to Jun 2012

Taught children through a variety of dance styles; ballet, tap, jazz, acrobatics and hip hop. Ages of children
ranged from 4 to 20. Gained teaching experience and how to be prepared with lesson plans and
combinations. Gained experience with child behavior and how to handle outbursts or disobedience,
effectively.

Dance Camp Director and Teacher Clymer, NY June 2015 to July 2015
Created a dance camp in a low-income area, entirely free of charge. Coordinated a schedule consisting of
hip-hop, acrobatics and musical theater classes, craft time and lunch. Worked with over 25 children ages
ranging from 5 to 15.

Gained knowledge on incorporating other styles of art into the classroom setting for children with Special
Needs. Used musical instruments, made crafts and put on a small dance performance for family and friends.

Witnessed and understood the expectations of a teacher in a classroom setting. Gained knowledge on
successfully running an educational, fun and disciplined atmosphere and the importance of imagination and
creativity.

Dance and Theater Arts Camp Marguerites Academy of Dance Erie, PA July 2015
Volunteered as a camp counselor for a weeklong, over-night dance and theater camp. Worked with 20
dancers ages ranging from 7 to 16. I gained fundamental knowledge on child safety and on health
precautions.
