The theme of the lesson was I Love My Mommy for The Mothers Day
Celebration.

The date of the performance: March 8th 2017

Development: Music & Movement, Spatial Awareness, Fine-Gross Motor Skills, and
Social Skills.
Process

I was informed that I needed to implement a dance after we decide on a song for the
mothers day dance just a week and a half before the performance day.

I implemented a dance overnight then showed it to my MST the next morning.

We started memorizing the song lyrics with the students first then slowly taught them
the dance. The only resources were the song, smartboard computer, and speakers.

Anecdote

On the Mothers Day Celebration day I arrived early to practice with the students,
only to have my MST state that she forgot parts of the dance so she changed it whilst
I was attending in the university and over the weekend. I learned the new dance
from her and allowed the students to eat first then practiced with them minutes
before the performance. I could see that some of the students were slightly lost
during the performance but I stood in the back and danced along with them to remind
them of the dance.

day of the mothers day dance before the performance.
General Evaluation of the Performance:
The performance wasnt as good as I expected it to be, because we barely had time to practice given a week and a half. Also with
the students being shy and confused with the dance change they started to either stand still or look around for guidance which is
why I danced at the back.
Suggestions
I would have created a simple dance that students can easily remember and keep up with.

For future reference I would have recorded the first dance practice so that the MST and I look back at
for help.

I wasnt at the first rehearsal they had because my MST asked me to stay behind with the assistant and
work on the gifts for the mothers, so I wish I could have seen that and realized that there were many

shy students that didn't do well when all eyes were on them.
