Description of shoot/production:
This is a generic risk assessment covering general filming activities anticipated during the course
of this production. It deals with the everyday hazards associated with filming in public places. It
should be used as a reference when carrying out all and any filming activities on the production.
As and when specific or significant other risks are identified in connection with a particular
planned activity individual assessments will be necessary to supplement this generic
assessment. It is the responsibility of the Location Director and Producer to issue details of
planned activities far enough in advance of shooting to allow for assessment of whether any
specific or significant risks exist. In the event that last minute changes to the schedule or list of
activities takes place (for example when you are already on location) it is the responsibility of the
Location Director to report any planned changes to the office (Production Co-ordinator or
Production Manager) before they take place. In the event that the Location Director is not on
location the Associate Producer or Co-ordinator should inform the office in the same way.

Description of Shoot:
Shoot inside a house. Its one day and there will be 9 people on set. Its an 8-minute
short film.

General General hazards of filming
Crew to carry first aid kit. All crew to keep a close eye on
each other and any potential hazards (including slips, trips

12 Fire Prevention / Evacuation To be briefed by staff at the school location. (L)

13 First Aid All accidents and near misses will be reported to the
Executive Producer. The crew will carry with them a first aid
kit and a fully charged mobile phone to alert the emergency
services should they be needed. (L)
17 General Public If time we may film some exteriors at a safe distance
around the river Thames. Assistant to look out for
pedestrians. Minimal kit will be used outside and if there are
any cables, these will be spotted to ensure they pose no
danger to the public. Unused equipment will be kept out of
the way. (L)
35 Children We will be filming with both staff and students throughout
the day. Filming will take place inside the school. Director is
used to filming with children and schools. Director has been
DBS checked. (L)
39 PSC, handheld, tripod Crew familiar with PSC set up.
Crew should avoid twisting, stooping or bending with kit to
minimise injury. Crew should be encouraged to move at a
slow, steady pace when carrying kit.
All equipment will be pre-use inspected to ensure there are
no fraying of cables or other damage which may make the
equipment unsafe to use.
Crew to ensure any cables are made safe and not in the way
of members of the public or anyone else, and no trip
hazards.
Crew to be made constantly aware of their surroundings.
