Dear NHUHSD Staff and Community Members,

The Board of Trustees of Northern Humboldt High School District is conducting a search for a new
District Superintendent. The position is currently being advertised nationwide, and we are looking
forward to selecting our next District leader from a qualified pool of applicants.

The process of selection involves a number of different steps in the following timeline:
Friday, April 7: Application window closes
Monday Wednesday, April 10-12: Public paper screening of applications
Wednesday, April 12: Board selection of candidates invited for interview
Saturday, April 29: Candidate interviews (Community interview and Board interview)
May or June Board meeting: New Superintendent signs contract

We are asking for your assistance in the paper screening of applicants. Applications will be
available at the District Office on the following days/times:
Monday, April 10, 7:30 am 6:00 pm
Tuesday, April 11, 7:30 am 4:30 pm
Wednesday, April 12, 7:30 am 4:30 pm

Tammy Pires, Superintendents Secretary, will facilitate the process. Depending on how many
applications we receive and how quickly people read, attendees should plan on spending between 2
and 3 hours screening applications. As a screening participant, you will be asked to sign a
confidentially agreement along with completing a scoring rubric for each applicant. It is important
that screeners commit to reviewing every application thoroughly so we have your comprehensive
perspective on all candidates.
