ANSWER ALL THE QUESTIONS

1. a) Define Momentum and Impulse Force? (4 marks)


b) A ball (1) is moving with a constant velocity of 4 m/s from west to east and collide
elastically with a ball (2) which is having initial velocity of 1m/s. Calculate the final
velocity of ball 1 and direction of the ball aided by diagram :-

c) Calculate both balls velocity after collision if the two balls collide non elastically in 1(b).

radius of cylinder is 0.5 m. Calculate the angular momentum of the cylinder about its axis?

f) If an identical spring were connected in parallel, what mass would need to be attached to
produce an extension of 15 cm? Sketch and explain the situation
(5 marks)

g) Define stress and explain the theory by using a diagram (3 marks)
