Job Description

Originates and develops analysis methods to determine reliability of Plant components,

equipment and systems through the use of the Meridium software. Facilitates and implements
new sustainable work processes and work mindsets that allow the Plant to be cognized as a
model of efficiency, safety and environmental compliance while at the same time optimizing
performance, improving availability and maximizing profits.
Performs reliability studies to analyze and identify specific systems or equipment needing
improvement.
Gathers and examines basic reliability data from SAP, historical records, interviews of Plant
personnel and other sources, and correlates the data for analysis using defined techniques and
methods in Meridium.
Conducts an analysis of reliability problems and investigates to determine the reliability
required for the particular situation considering the cost limitations for equipment up/down time,
repair/replacement costs, weight, size, and availability of materials/equipment.
Prepares diagrams, charts, drawings, calculations, and reports for defining reliability problems
and makes recommendations for improvements.
Determines the cost advantages of alternatives for developing action plans to comply with
internal/external customer demands for reliable processes/equipment to avoid failures.
Facilitate the implementation of Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) and Root Cause
Analysis (RCA) methods.
Actively participate in the maintenance best practices
Monitors and evaluates an asset bad actor lists.
Develops and implements changes to equipment maintenance plans based on reliability
principles and best practices.
Provides training to develop the capacity of Plant personnel to do reliability-centered
maintenance activities

Ensures appropriate action items are identified and carried out to resolve such issues and or
ensures timely completion.
Strictly complies with corporate governance and principles, such as, but not limited to,
Housekeeping, Safety, Environmental, and Code of Conduct and Discipline and adheres to AES
core values. Active and participating member in Plant Wide and Safety Meetings
Ensures that correct Risk Assessments are carried out for all work under his responsibility
Employees expectations and results will be measured on his ability to achieve goals,
initiatives, and expectations as set forth and agreed upon between the employee and their Team
Leader
Ensures adherence to company rules and regulations and actively participate in company
sponsored programs
Provides input on co-workers performance appraisals
Accepts leadership role as may be requested in resolution of engineering or technical issues
Job Requirement
* Qualifications & Personal Requirements:
Bachelors degree in engineering or equivalent from an accredited educational institution or
equivalent reliability and/or maintenance work experience
Ability to read and understand plant technical documents including operations and maintenance
manuals, technical drawings, schematics, logic diagrams and safety materials.
Working knowledge of plant and equipment performance measures
Experience with and knowledge of plant and equipment reliability improvement methods and
calculations
Ability to participate constructively in work teams to facilitate and implement improvements to
operations, maintenance and business practices.
Experience leading or facilitating Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM).
Experience leading or facilitating Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
Experience in, and knowledge of, plant operations, maintenance, and business activities and
practices
Experience in using, and understanding computer applications and data systems including MS
Office and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
Working knowledge and understanding of applicable industry codes, standards and regulations
Strong analytical skills. Ability to analyze and solve complex issues and problems
Goal oriented with drive and passion to learn
Capability to work independently or collaboratively with teams and support multiple tasks
concurrently
Proficient in writing both for technical and internal AES and external AES consumption
Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills, both oral and written
Possess confidence in decision making, negotiation skills, leadership, capabilities, and solid
oral and written communication skills
