Job Responsibilities

As a Electrical Inspector I carry out all Kind of Electrical


Installation Work with the following responsibilities.

Detail site inspection of the Electrical work to ensure strict


devotion to the approved construction drawings and technical
specifications.
Coordinate all the activities from of the projects as per scope of
work, company standards SEC and specifications to meet the
timely completion of the projects.
Supports or acts as necessary, to oversee project progress,
monitor staffing, and change order requirements and attend
project meetings.
All Remote End activities for substation 9053 and 9054 regarding
panels shifting, installation, grounding and termination.
Review of material submittal, making and forwarding engineering
& design transmittals for review of different Saudi Electric Divisions
from base design stage up to the final acceptance of the project.
Preparation of progress report for the assessment of progress on
daily basis.
Monitoring the installation/testing of 380kV GIS Indoor CBs, CTs,
VTs , Isolators and outdoor equipments including Freestanding
CTs, Surge arresters, Post Insulators etc. as per standards and
specification.
Reinforcement Earthing, Main Earthing Earthing Mesh, Parameter
Earthing /lightning protection systems and shielding installation.
Attending internal project meetings to track the project progress
with respect to the project schedule and understand the problems
on project execution.

Provide quality assurance reviews of:


o Electrical physical designs
o Electrical control designs
o Substation automation and SCADA designs
o Equipment specifications
Develop electrical physical designs for substations which include:
o Substation electrical arrangements, plans, and sections.
o High voltage bus designs and analysis.
o Grounding plans and analysis.
o Conduit and raceway plans.
o Substation yard lighting.
Develop electrical control designs for substations which include:
o AC and DC control schematic diagrams.
o Equipment and control panel wiring diagrams.
o Control house and control panel design and layouts.
o Lighting controls.
Develop substation automation and SCADA designs which include:
o RTU/PLC control schematics and wiring.
o Substation communications network layouts and block diagrams.
o Conceptual SCADA designs for new and existing facilities.
o Support transmission and distribution planning with:
o Locating new or expansion of existing substation facilities.
o Conceptual layout and design of substations.
o Cost estimates for design and construction of substations.
Develop, maintain, and review equipment specifications for:
o Power circuit breakers and circuit switchers from 15kV through 230kV.
o Distribution and bulk power transformers.
o Transmission and distribution capacitor banks.
o 15kV metalclad switchgear.
o High voltage air-break disconnect switches.
o 115kV Gas Insulated Switchgear.
Develop a high level of engineering proficiency within the field of specialization.
o Develop technical knowledge of all current techniques, applicable codes, and regulations with
respect to substation design.

MINOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES


Support training of designers and field technicians on new design standards.
Develop and maintain substation standards.
Maintain personal training certifications required for access to PGE substation facilities.

COMMUNICATIONS
Communicate verbally and in writing with company management on project schedule and
budget.
Provide technical input as part of a cross functional project team.
Communicate with other utilities' personnel and provide technical expertise.
CHALLENGES
Investigate substation construction, maintenance, and operational problems and initiate
corrective action.
Develop designs for large complex substation engineering and construction projects.
Evaluate and resolve technically complex problems in protection and control of electrical
substations
utilizing digital protection and automation equipment.
Communicate effectively with diverse work groups.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Requires a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, with emphasis in power systems
preferred.
Requires five years of relevant engineering experience and a Professional Engineering
License.
Thorough knowledge of fundamental engineering/economics principles and concepts.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Effective group presentation skills.
Effective human relations skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to review, evaluate and analyze technical information policies and reports.
Demonstrated solid level of professional knowledge, skills, and proficiency with current tools
and
technologies.
