I am a Kenyan citizen aged 23 years., I have completed Certificate in nutrition and dietetics at
NEP COLLEGE OF HEALTH SCIENCE. And Diploma In The Same Field & awaiting my
certificate. I have a nutritional management experience including integrated management of
acute malnutrition (IMAM), infant young child feeding,counseling,community-based
management of acute malnutrition, nutritional screening for at risk patients, updated menu
options for diabetes patients, nutritional content of recipes,diateryfibre and vitamin
supplementation. I am familiar with nutritional policies, management, rules, practices and
preparing nutritional report. Am currently working as volunteer in PGH Garissa.

I am also registered with Kenya Nutrition and dietician institute board [KNDI].
I am very much interested in working with a reputable organization and especially on such a
humanitarian missions. I have working experience with the ministry of health as an internship in
Garissa County Refferal Hospital. Working in a multi-cultural environment and have shown
immense qualities in communication, analysis and negotiation. I am able to work under minimal
supervision and in harsh working environments.

able to competently perform the required tasks.

Identification and referral of malnourished children to nearest hospital

Growth monitoring of children-MUAC, Height and Weight, Weight for Age WHZ score
Community nutrition and health education
Follow up , home visit and individual counseling for mothers with malnourished children
Vitamin A supplementation and deworming and children under the age of five years
Supplementary food distribution for children, pregnant and lactating mothers
Community mobilization for outreach services, NUTRITION and WASH programs
Collecting and compiling reports for every end month.
Represent the organization in conferences and meeting.
Weigh children and mothers.
Counsel mothers on good nutrition and that of their children.

Ensure that mothers who attend the family planning clinic are breastfeeding.
Ensure that initiation of breastfeeding is done within 30 minutes of delivery.
Ensure mothers are given Vitamin A before they are discharged.
Ensure that mothers continue breastfeeding when the child is sick.
If the child is above 6 months ensure appropriate complementary
feeding.
