Very busy weekend great work cleaning up from Halloween Pumpkin Carving
Reduction in mice
Front door is acting up but is being worked on
Watch the Skies Mega Game has been cancelled
No hall bookings: Dec. 18-26
Twins event coming back
Changed the front door lock box code- get it from Keri if you need it
St. Anthonys is looking to a potential long term contract
(Noted that board members are entitled to one rental per year for $50)
Motion: Increase the rate to $75 for board members

Hall Maintenance Sand Boxes

City is no longer ofering sand boxes


City has ofered a box for the sand however they would not fill the sand
Discussion if the sand box should be filled as it would be
Recommendation the sand box would be used however he cannot commit to filling the sandbox on
a regular basis

Discussion Max has a truck and is willing to be involved with delivery
3 to 4 times per winter

Newsletter has been distributed attendance

Website Peter

Contract has been terminated, vendor was compliant on the 7:35


Peter has developed a website demonstration given
Peter has learned the new platform and it is user friendly for adding information on the webpage
Recommends that it is a good platform moving forward as it will allow us to change the design
and content
Provide feedback to Peter
Should be able to go live within the next week
Last item is the payment information
Programs and Events Peter is the contact right now but that is not the long term intent
Booking process is more automated
Email addresses can be generated: XYZ@ritchie-league.com
Next steps launch next week (target), send content to Peter for now

Forwarded reference letters for new Architect, found to be favourable and moving forward with work
Avid Architecture, $9750 contract signed 7:53
Progress report already received
3 meetings to date
On track potentially seeing drawings later this month
No information from Canada 150 Grant
Moving quickly as a business case needs to be submitted to the City
Discussion around timeline and expectation on the build within the next two years, many
dependencies involved
Canada 150 Grant requires that it be built by 2018

Newsletter is being updated regularly
Considering reformatting 7:57
Some requests to be included in the eNewsletter Examples Eclipse Swim School, C3 Church,
Michaels Development
Concern that there is too much content already and that additional information would
clutter the newsletter
Need to check in on the intent

Print newsletter is a possibility for interested businesses
Motion: Decline ofers for paid advertising and forward them to the print newsletter

b) Civics update Max


Mature Neighbourhood Overlay EFCL is drafting a response
Issues being raised around secondary suites, side variances, front setbacks
Survey is available online to give
City Council has authorized an additional high rise in Forest Heights
Resident concerned about a narrow lot home however there is a blanket overlay for the
neighbourhood for this type of development. Encourage the residents to be involved with the
builder.
Survey participation has found to be frustrating

c) Ritchie Vibrancy Julia, Tracy


Lantern workshop proposed dates Flying Canoe Festival is first weekend in February. Can
do the workshop as late as the end of January. Early January is preferred, will connect with Keri. 8:10
Kids dont go back to school until January 9 th, one consideration.
Bike rack project things moved quickly, on Nov. 28th Designs will be ready for viewing
2 PM on Nov. 28th come if you would like them to view the designs Jasper Place High School
Need to select approximately 5 locations where the might go (front doors, in proximity to the
playground, Lillyput playground,
Action: send a location to Julia
Day light in Mill Creek Julia attended a workshop, summary to follow
Community Garden approached by Victor, could have a workshop to gauge interest
i) Further discussion on speed limits
Need for petition to be signed, with 67% of owners signatures of owners to sign petition
Paths for People is working on a proposal for the table

Julia to investigate possibilities for workshop to invite residents, Troy from Hazeldean, Paths
for People to have a community engagement workshop to investigate options for speed limit
reduction.

d) Youth Programs Halloween Leah


Halloween pumpkin carving was very successful
Family want to take a tour of Waste Management Centre approximately $270 for bus rental, no
kids under 9 years of age, has to during the day on a Friday, under consideration

Program are going well, report further in December

f) SE Winter Fun Fest December 12th Laura


Runs approximately 2.5 hours as a City event that the community leagues are asked is driving
Kennelworth Community League is hosting 8:33
Motion: Donate $100 to the SE Winter Fun Festival

Discussion: Need for volunteers, suggestion to promote that on the
Suggestion that we do not donate the money as we do not support so that the City stops hosting
it, however many expressed that the it is well attended in the

h) Ritchie Community League consider the idea of contributing to something at the Ritchie Market as a Laura
place based initiative
i) Mill Creek Rehabilitation Project
Information session is on right now
Should consider if we want to be involved as there is potential for the creek eroding away Caroline
Erosion control - Storm water system surges and erodes the creek and the banks
City is a proposal stage
It is not clear how the information is collected and being captured
Looking for more information from the City
Survey opens later this week, will be circulated and posted on Facebook
eNewsletter - Request from C3 Church - request from C3 Church to put poster up for their Christmas play in exchange of
tickets.
Churches are not businesses so they fall into a grey area for participation
Felt that we do not need receive the tickets
Poster can be posted at the website, on Facebook and on the hall community notice board
Suggestion to pass the tickets at their discretion
k) FYI: super awesome totally rad toques and mittens to be sold for the Xmas season.

o Suggestion to open invitation to rest of the community for the information session
o Cofee, juice and snacks are supported
o Try to get it on a night with both halls (Friday night or Sunday afternoon)
