Environmental Effect

#01
Consumerism doesnt only affect humans, it also effects animals and their
environment
Consumerism can affect a lot of ocean animals and one major animal it
effects is fish
Fish can sometimes get confused and mistake trash for food and could
cause the fish to get a disease
Many people dont think this is a big deal but it effects all ocean life
because other animals bigger than the fish eat the fish and then the
pollution is passed down to the animal that ate the fish
After being consumed by small fish and shellfish, these toxins move up
the food chain and hurt larger animals like sea lions, turtles, dolphins,
birds, manatees, and fish.

Environmental Effect #02
Trash can affect groundwater if there is no bottom layer to prevent it to
getting into the water
When it rains, it rains on the landfills and it goes into thee drain and rain
water can contain harmful chemicals
Landfills have been identified as one of the major threats to ground water
resources
Much of the concern revolves around leachate, the watery solution that
results after water passes through landfill
The environmental cost of these toxic items when carelessly discard is
staggering in comparison to the environment benefits od the new
equipment. According for a comparatively small percentage of the total
waste in our landfills, roughly 2%, e-waste represents nearly 70% of the
toxic waste in landfills

Human Effect #1
Consumerism affects environments and human life
Human waste contaminates the soil, air, and water with toxics and
chemicals and disease causing bacterial agents
Human waste includes both the organic synthetic waste substances can
threaten the surrounding of the environment by chemicals getting into
streams, rivers, and the air
human activities have driven our society downhill with the results of the
highest annual global waste
waste that accumulates in the atmosphere causes smog and reduces air
quality and creates health risks for living organisms

Human Effects #2
Humans are beginning to see shortsightedness of the dilution philosophy.
Many national law as well as international protocols how forbid dumping
of harmful materials into the ocean, although enforcement can often be
spotty
As these chemicals are ingested by animals in the ocean, this is not good
for humans. We as humans ingest contaminated fish and mammals.

in consumer society, people replace their goods with newer ones. They
purchase goods use them and throw them away
the economy is judged by the production and selling of goods.
the more goods produced and consumed by society the higher the
growth of rate of the economy
