No PE this week.
We will have our 2nd grade assembly on
Wednesday, May 24th at 9 am in the
cafeteria. Each student will receive an
award for the year and parents are
welcome to come. Students may Dress to
Impress for the assembly.

tissues. Many students are fighting colds
so we have gone through tissues VERY
quickly.
Keep in mind that checks will not be
accepted for payments after May 1st. After
May 1st all payments must be made online.
Please check and sign agendas daily.
Make sure students are at school on
time and arrive by 7:45 am. Those
who arrive after this time will be
marked tardy.

This Weeks Focus
ELA
ELA: i-Ready lesson #21
Comprehension Skill: Connecting Words and Pictures
Grammar Skill: Parts of speech
Vocabulary Skill: Suffixes & Root Words
Writing: Narrative Writing
**We will not have any vocabulary or spelling
quizzes this week. We will be doing our i-Ready
Reading lesson that we did not get to last week, as
well as literature circles (where students read a
book and discuss it with their group). The girls
have really been enjoying their book clubs, so I
have been letting them continue with that and
make posters.
Math
We have finished all our lessons in our math book! We
will now be doing additional lessons in our Standards
Practice book to get ready for 3rd grade.
Science
Unit 10
10.1 What Are Plant Needs?
10.2 What Are Animal Needs?
10.4 Where Do Plants and Animals Live?
We will not have a test on this, but will review the book
and do activities.
