Adjustment to Practice: Dr. Polizzotti directed the students to sit in
pre-arranged groups at tables in the lab/classroom and to continue
working on their research projects. The students developed
individual webpages for their projects. They were given a checklist
to insure that all required components of the project were included

in the checklist. The detailed checklist listed the points earned for
each component. During the class, Dr. Polizzotti met with students
individually to discuss their projects. Using inquiry she challenged
the students to think about their environmental problem and how
they could best apply possible solutions.
2.A.3* Meeting Diverse Needs: This is a class that has students of varied
ability levels, even though she described this as one of the brighter
classes. Dr. Polizzotti was able to modify the lesson to make the
goals and objectives of the lesson clear to all her students. For
instance, during the individual consultation one student, did not
appear to understand, Dr. Polizzotti helped the student by asking
questions to help him think through the issue. Since it part of the

elements are highlighted.
** Evidence included is indicative of performance relative to each element. It may include
evidence that demonstrates one or more of the dimensions (quality, consistency, scope) of
an element are being met or that performance is not yet at the expected threshold.

individual meetings she was holding with all the students, it was
done in a way that did not single out any specific student however,
it was clear to the observer that Dr. Polizzotti was overseeing
student who may have had difficulty with the lesson.

Dr. Polizzotti classes are extremely well organized. She
used variety of methods to develop skills to
compliment the material they are studying. By
Reinforcement requiring the students to conduct the research for their
Area/Action: projects and then to build a website complete with
(strengths) research information and pictures, the students are
developing a number of skills beyond their
understanding of the environmental issues of the
Biome.
