1. How are anatomy and physiology related?

The structure determines the function

2. What is an enzyme?
Its what helps break things down in your system
Which of the life processes from above were mentioned in the video?
Movement, digestion, and absorption
3. List 3 of the life processes that you think were related in Kati Moris situation.
Responsiveness, respiration, excretion.

4. What is hypnatremia?
When there isnt enough sodium in the blood
How does Katis story relate to homeostasis?
Because she doesnt have a constant balance.
Which of the ten life processes were compromised in Katis situation?
Circulation, assimilation, absorption.
5.
Organ System How does it help maintain homeostasis?

Integumentary - protect underlying tissues, regulate body

Body covering. Skin, hair, nails, sweat temperature
glands.

Skeletal - Support, movement, protection;

Bones, ligaments, cartilage production of blood cells

Muscular - Movement, posture, production of body

Muscles of the body heat

Nervous - Communication, mental activities

Brain, spinal cord, nerves

Endocrine - Secretion of hormones, chemical

Glands = pituitary, thyroid, pancreas, communication
ovaries, testes

Digestive - Breakdown of food (digestion), absorbtion

Mouth, esophagus, stomach, intestines,

Circulatory - Transports materials throughout the body.

Heart, blood vessels, blood.

Lymphatic - fights infections

(Immune System)

Urinary - filters wastes from the blood, maintains

Kidneys, ureters, urinary bladder, urethra water balance

Reproductive Regulates the temperature in parts of your

Reproductive organs, primarily the ovaries body
(females) and testes (males)

Reflection on what you learned/what stood out as important from this chapter: Some of the
most important things i learned in this chapter were learning what enzymes were. I always
heard a lot about them, but I had no clue what they were. So learning about them was really
cool and informational for me.

Reflection on what you learned/what stood out as important from this chapter: Before i did this
chapter I had little understanding on the cells. But I learned about the setup of the cell. I
learned about the nucleus, cytoplasm and cell membrane.

Reflection on what you learned/what stood out as important from this chapter: This was my
favorite chapter, I learned a lot. I learned about different kinds of bone structures and what
part they play in the human body. And the different kinds of bone development throughout
growth. However, my favorite thing to learn about was the skull and the different sections of it.

Reflection on what you learned/what stood out as important from this video: also learned a lot
in this section, too. I learned a lot about the mouth and what each part of the mouth does. I
also learned a lot about the stomach and what each part of the stomach is.

Reflection on what you learned/what stood out as important from this video: This was a really
cool section for me. I learned a lot about the primary functions and the larynx. It was really
cool to learn the different structures of the larynx. And how the vocal cords work.
