Dear Ms. Stidham,

Last week, while attending a career expo in St. Johns County I was able to meet Ms. Gina
Knight, coordinator of the Duval County Public Schools. Ms. Knight gave me a lot of useful
information and background information about your school system. She mentioned that your
school, Duval Charter School at Baymeadows, has a third grade teaching positon open and I am
interested in meeting with you to talk more about the position. I have learned through research
that your school has been an A rated charter school for several years. I also feel that your
mission to strive for academic excellence through challenging each student individually
coincides with my preferred and personal teaching methods. I believe my experience and
knowledge could help your school maintain and succeed in those areas.

After my meeting with Ms. Knight, I feel very confident that I would be a perfect fit for
the teaching position at your school. I have acquired experience and skills during my time as a
teachers assistant, after school counselor and summer camp director at One Room School House
located in Gainesville, FL.

As a transfer senior at Arizona State University, I will graduate in the fall of 2017 with a
B.S degree in Educational Studies. I know that your opening is for a third grade teacher and it is
clear to me that the educational achievement and success of each student is very important. One
Room School House has a similar mission for their students. During my time at One Room as a
teacher assistant, I helped maintain that importance by utilizing a range of students learning
modalities in lessons and instructions to maximize their learning opportunities and achievements.
Working for a Title 1 school wasnt easy but their passion for individual student success and
teaching strategies is what drove me to be a part of their staff. I also have other teaching
experiences that I believe will help with improving effective teaching strategies for students at
Duval Charter School at Baymeadows. I was a full-time gymnastics coach and after school
coordinator at Ancient City Gymnastics. As a gymnastics coach, I taught lessons from ages 3-10
and each lesson was different based on the level, athleticism and coordination of the child. I used
many techniques in my lessons and instruction for the child to improve and achieve their goals
and achievements. I think my experience with One Room and Ancient City Gymnastics
coordinate with the goals and needs at Duval Charter School at Baymeadows.

Duval Charter School at Baymeadows for several years has been an A rated school and
I would like to speak with you about how my experiences can help to continue that success as a
third grade teacher. I am sure my skills and experiences meet your requirements for the opening.
