On behalf of our client, the YWCA of Minneapolis, KeyStone Executive Search is

conducting a retained search for the new Vice President of Health and Wellness.

ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND

The YWCA of Minneapolis was founded in 1891 by a group of women pushing the
boundaries of social acceptability: women working outside of the home. The YWCA has
been at the forefront of social change ever since.

Throughout the early part of the century members fought against the social conventions
and prejudices of their day - working for women's suffrage throughout the early 1900s;
promoting racial equality and integration in the '40s; and organizing support and
advocacy for single parents and welfare recipients in the early '60s. For a complete
timeline, please go to the following site www.ywca-minneapolis.org/about/history.asp

The mission of the YWCA is to empower women and girls and to eliminate racism. The
YWCA of Minneapolis stands for a fully-inclusive community where each person is
healthy and valued, and where racial justice, gender equality and human dignity are
promoted and sustained through bold and effective women's leadership.

The YWCA continues to build on the strength and success of its current programs for
children and youth and develop new programs of the highest quality to meet the needs of
emerging and under-served populations. With an annual budget of approximately $15
million and over 540 employees, the YWCA of Minneapolis is one of the largest
nonprofit organizations in our region and in the top 5 YWCA’s in the country.
