Localiza

Location Chimbote the city of Chimbote in the homonymous bay, at the

northern end of Ancash bounded to the north by the Hill of Youth and
south by the peninsula of Ferrol. It is two hours and six of Lima Trujillo.

Historia

Chimbote brings a rich historical legacy, established land

where primitive groups, coastal tribes called Yungas,
appearing Mochica and Chimu which had much influence on
the Costa. Faded to the beat of the Hispanic yoke and reborn
again made the independence of Peru. There was no written
evidence in the archaeological study but all kinds of cookware
as found. Costumes, instruments, utensils, weapons, etc., that
indicate the wide scope of the first men. They extended their
dominions at the headquarters of the Yungas, Mochica or
Chimes until the fifteenth century. Northeast of the city was
found ceramic in steel industrial area, other huacas, channels,
etc. Which indicated that it was a culture dedicated to
agriculture (which include irrigation works and hydraulic
engineering) and fishing. Those first men were polytheists.
Primitive chimbotano in its infancy was a budding fisherman
with the passage of time and through their own efforts and of
foreign influences which then formed groups organized as the
Yungas. They had a theocratic and military system built rafts
and fishing gear. Later pottery and decorated, which are
confirmed in the archaeological remains.

Lugares turisticos

1.) Hill of the youth. This attraction is ideal to

appreciate the Youth Park, the Catacomb Church, a
representation of the birth of Jesus, a statue of St. Peter,
 and the Cross that illuminates every province of
Chimbote.
2.) Museum of De Pedrito. Fishing boat which was
adopted as a museum by the Bishop of Chimbote, with
the aim of providing tourism and education.
3.) The Hill of the Serpent. On the hill you can see a
snake more than 200 meters long. It was probably built
by the Mochica-Chimu culture about 1400 years.
4.) Hill skulls. From the top you can see the town of
Nuevo Chimbote. For lovers of adventure tourism is a
good choice for outdoor activities.
5.) The White Island. It has an area of 3200 m. long and
920 m. wide, the highest peak measured 204 m in
height.
6.) Forest nursery of the city of Chimbote. Picturesque
countryside setting. A thoroughly enjoyable to spend
time with family and friends in touch with nature.

chinguirito.
