Muhammad Ali once said, Hating people because of their color is wrong. And it doesnt

matter which color does the hating. Its just plain wrong.

Racism is still a struggle today despite the belief it is not an important issue today. In

history, slavery and discrimination are prominent. They are issues that have been around for

centuries and are caused by the belief of one race that they are better or higher up than another.

Racism should be stopped because it is not right, all people should be treated equal and no one

person is above that. Racism is considered more of a problem today is not only a concerning

matter in the United States but in other parts of the world. Racism can be resolved if the

government stops being so racially diverse and the media focuses on all people of all ethnicities

and races.

Racism today is considered more of a problem than it was at any point in the past twenty

years. According to a poll created by CNN/ Kaiser Family Foundation, 49% said racism is a big

problem in America, an increase from the 28%, four years ago and the 41%, twenty years ago.

This could possibly be caused by the media putting emphasis on and creating drama about all of

the wrongdoings of colored or ethnically diverse people, while if a white person were to do the

same, there would not be as much emphasis and drama surrounding the topic. This can cause

more cases of racism than the past twenty years because the past twenty years have not been as

technologically advanced as today, and social media was not as developed as it is today. Lincoln

once stated, our fathers brought forth, upon this continent, a new nation, conceived in liberty,
and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal. If all men are created equal

then why are so many people being treated as if they are less than others? People are supposed to

be created equal, treated equal, and greeted equal. This applies to all over the world and not just

America, the whole world needs to realize we are all the same despite some differences and

barriers.

Racism can be resolved if and when the government stops being so racially diverse and if

the media focuses on people of all ethnicities and races. Today if a black man were to commit a

crime it would be all over the news and media as if it were the most important thing in the world,

yet, if a white man were to do the same thing it would be passed off as if it were ok. In the

criminal justice system a black person is more likely to be targeted and more harshly accused

than a white person. This is also a way racism can be solved if everyone gets charged the same in

court no matter what race or ethnicity. Racism needs to stop, and not just in the U.S. but all over

the world. A way to do this is to begin treating everyone the same on all social media platforms,

in person, in workplaces and educational places. Everyone deserves to be treated equally because

although we may look different on the outside the inside is all the same, we all have a brain, we

all have a heart, and we all have the power to treat everyone equally and believe that everyone is

the same.
