1. CURRENT SITUATION OF EMPLOYMENT IN BOLIVIA

According to data from the National Census of Population and Housing of 2012, in Bolivia approximately 7 out
of 10 Bolivians are in age of work, of those 7 only 4 of they belong to Economically Active Population (PEA in
their acronyms in Spanish) and the rest 3 are unemployed.
The no actives people are those that although are in the age of work at the moment of be consulted, they
had not got work, they did not search or they did not want work. Into of this group are housewife, students,
rentiers and retireds.
According to same data elaborated and disseminated for the National Institute of Statistic (INE of their
acronyms in Spanish), of those more of four million Bolivians that enjoy labor occupation, the 50.6% have not
got fixed income and they work for own account; while the 41.5% are salaried.
