material especially in India for last 2 decades. As such structural steel is a very versatile
material and is in use all over the world for almost 5 decades. The same was not very
popular or extensively used in India because of high price and non-availability of skilled
labourers. At the same time there are many advantages like high speed of construction,
overall saving in self-weight as compared to concrete structure, High ductility etc.
