Dying truth

More and more journalists are being killed, imprisoned and attacked. Being a journalist is
now one of the most dangerous jobs in the world. Between 2006 and 2016 at least more
than 929 journalists were killed. These journalists were killed because they investigated
corrupt governments or criminal organisations. Being a journalist is a difficult job. You need
good connections and you need the ability to give the news to people in an excessive way.
These people risk their lives to give us an expanded and better view of the world. But there
are a lot of secrets that people dont want to be discovered. And when journalists are coming
too close to the truth their voices will be crushed.

Most of the journalists dont receive justice when they are prosecuted. The people who
worked hard for justice for other people dont get it when their lives are on risk of being lost.
And with every journalist that is killed for just doing his/hers job the world gets a little bit
darker again. We should give journalists more protection just like they protect our world from
unfairness, corruption and much more.

The most dangerous countries in the world for journalists and whistleblowers since 1992
until January 2017 are:

Country: Journalists killed:

Iraq 178

Syria 107

The Philippines 77

Somalia 62

Algeria 60

Pakistan 59

Russia 56
