interior of the cabinet to measure filter airflow at
a distance of 15 cm / 6 inches from the filter
face. The filter face was divided into a suitable
number of grids. The grids are 15 cm from the
walls and 30 cm cartesian apart. Prior to this
test, the cabinet blower system was factory

Acceptance Criteria : Average filter face velocity of 0.4 0.5m/s or 80 100 fpm, with no single value
deviating more than 20% from the calculated average.
In accordance with the following IEST (Institute of Environmental Sciences and Technology) contamination
control document: IEST-RP-CC002.2 Recommended Practice for Unidirectional Flow Clean Air Devices

The counting was evaluated in accordance with the cleanliness requirements of the following standards:
Class 3 as per ISO 14644 Class 1 / M.1.5 as per US Federal Standard 209E
Class 0.035 as per Australian Standard AS 1386 Class 1 as per German Standard VDI 2083
Class C as per British Standard BS 5295 Class 40 as per French Standard AFNOR X44101
Class 3 as per Japanese Standard JIS B9920 Class M100 as per Korean Standard 27030.1

With the particle counter set to monitor particles on 0.1 microns, the counter probe was slowly moved over
the entire surface of the filter (including areas surround the gasket). Any spikes in the instantaneous
particle count (which could represent a possible filter leak) were recorded. The test was performed with the
cabinet sited in a normal room environment.

The cabinet was isolated in a noise-controlled environment and a noise level meter was set up at a distance
of 30 cm in front of the cabinet and 38 cm above the work surface. With the cabinet running under normal
parameters, the instrument was used to obtain a noise level of the cabinet during normal operation.
6. Vibration Test
Acceptance : Maximum cabinet vibration (net value) should be less than 0.5 x 10-5 m RMS amplitude
