This message is being sent in response to the following submitted inquiry:

RE: case number 00125984

I received the following response to my complaint. I work at a Veterans

Administration hospital which is a federal agency and is not with the
jurisdiction of city or state.

Response: Thank you for your inquiry.

We understand that you are asking about how to file a complaint about
food safety in your hospital's patient kitchens.

FDA does not have jurisdiction in this matter. We are a federal agency that
regulates manufacturers of food sold in interstate commerce in the United
States.

Your hospital's regulation or certification would more than likely come from
the local government's (city or county) health department. Please check
with that agency.

The Food and Drug Administrations (FDA) Food and Cosmetic

Information Center (FCIC)/Technical Assistance Network (TAN) has
prepared a response for case number 00126851.

Response: Thank you for your inquiry.

We stand by our previous response. FDA does not have jurisdiction in this
matter. We do not regulate food services at federal facilities. If you contact
your local health department, you will obtain guidance and information for
resolving the matter that you are seeking to report.

Thank you for contacting FDAs FCIC/TAN.
