The Foundation New Age Calendar is a solar calendar for which a given day of the year occurs
on the same day of the week, month, and month day, every year. For example, day number 354
is always Wednesday, December 25. A given date always falls on the same day of the week,
e.g., December 25 always falls on a Wednesday. In other words, there is only one version of the
Foundation New Age Calendar it is the same for all years. It is also the case that a given day of
any month falls on the same weekday, e.g., the 13th of every month is always a Friday. Each
quarter has exactly the same number of days, except the fourth quarter, which has one additional
day in non-leap-years and two additional days in leap years (years divisible by 4 except for
centenary years not divisible by 400). December 37 occurs only in leap years. Solstices occur
on first day of first and third quarters (or on the preceding day). Equinoxes occur on first day of
second and fourth quarters (or on the preceding day). Winter solstice in the Northern
Hemisphere is the first day of the year (or the preceding day). January 1, Year 0 of the New Age
(New Era, or NE) is December 22, AD2003 of the Gregorian solar calendar.
