Report objective-

Design a feedback assisted system for operation and award of

advanced diploma qualification in interdisciplinary areas of Industrial
Plant Construction Operation & Maintenance.

What is the NEED ? Why Advanced diploma qualification?

This qualification is a solution to the problem of gaps that exist

between the Institutes and the Industry. While doing this course a
fresh engineer can decide the best specific engineering career. This
qualification is a plant performance booster because plants will
receive personals having a customized qualification. Further, fresh
recruited engineers can benefit by becoming strong in the career in
which they have just entered.
Indirectly but very effectively this qualification contributes to the
productivity of the Nation.
Overview of the proposal and the project-
Advanced diploma qualification will have three levels. (a) Advanced diploma in Industrial Plant
Technology Level I, (IPT1). (b) Advanced diploma in Industrial Plant Technology Level II, (IPT2).
And (c) Advanced diploma in Industrial Plant Technology Level III, (IPT3).

Courses for the three qualifications can be pursued in continuation or in three parts whichever
way suits the candidate and the sponsor.

System description
System is necessarily a feedback assisted system to ensure continuous improvement
throughout the operation and award of the qualification. It works in the following way as shown
in Figure 1.

Major steps in operation and award of the qualification.

A. Communication
Communication of qualification and training sessions to perspective trainees in the form
of emails, advertisements and internet.

B. Pretest.
Pretest is designed to ensure that the candidates enter any level only if fit for the level.
In case a candidate has gaps, then he shall first finish a foundation training to become
fit to enter the advanced diploma qualification program.

C. Registration/enrolment in Level I, II or III depending on

pretest results.
D. Familarization with the training and assessment process
and the system.
Candidate is required to demonstrate understanding of the whole process of achieving
the qualification. System has two major sections, (1) Training body and (2) Assessment
and awarding body. Training and awarding bodies shall have separate committee
members, a member of assessment and awarding body cannot be a member of the
training body.

Qualification Assessment and Awarding Body

This body is a set of professionals have done Assessors course successfully under
supervision of a internationally certified assessor of global authorities like SQA, TAFE
etc. AND have successfully been assessed competent under the detailed performance
objectives laid down in appendix under respective qualifications.
Awarding and assessing body will be a registered society, with the sole objective of
giving services of assessing candidate performance in different fields of work and
professions.
