the oil cooler on the VOLVO D12D engine.

You must read and understand the precautions and


guidelines in Service Information, group 20, "General
Safety Practices, Engine" before performing this pro-
cedure. If you are not properly trained and certified in
this procedure, ask your supervisor for training before
you perform it.

Removal

1 Upper screws for the turbocharger outlet pipe (A)

Remove inner fender and bracket.

Lower screw and bracket for the turbocharger outlet


pipe (B)

Remove the upper (A) and lower (B)


screws. Remove the turbocharger out-
let pipe mounted above the oil filter
housing.

Clean the area around the thermostat
on the oil filter housing.

Place a new seal in the bypass valve bocharger pipe. Install the pipe in the
housing recess. Install bypass valve adapter. Tighten screws in the oil filter
and cover. Tighten the mounting (A) and the lower mounting bracket
screws. (B).

Install new seals on the lower charge


air hose. Attach the hose between the
turbocharger pipe and the charge air
cooler (CAC). Tighten the clamps.

Start the engine and check for leaks.
