Coca-Cola Company

The Coca-Cola Company was published from 1987 until 1997. Throughout the

years of 1987 from 1998 Coca-Cola has been renovated, from its slogan to its design but

manages to keep its quality, refreshing, crisp taste. From the year it was published in 1987

from 1998 Coca-Cola has created many innovations which customers love even to this

day. This company has had its ups and downs with its marketing but continues to prosper

due to its high end quality and taste. Coca-Cola was invented by pharmacist John Stith

Pemberton in 1886 by mixing Coca-Cola syrup with carbonated water (Myers 2) and

cocaine, which was removed in 1903. What seemed like a small experiment later became

an iconic eponymous best selling soft drink in the world.

Coca-Cola received its name by a man named Frank Robinson which also

designed its trademark in 1893 which is still used today. Before Pemberton died he sold

his business to many, in 1891 pharmacist Asa G. Candler had received sole ownership for

a total of twenty-three hundred dollars and formed the Coca-Cola Company (Myers 3).

Candler made Coca-Cola a bustling business, he opened manufactures in other states

and sold Coca-Cola in more than 200 countries. Candler was a great business man, who

came up with many ideas for this product to be known, such as giving coupons for free

drinks, selling calendars, clocks and souvenirs (Myers 3) which caused the company's

products to skyrock. By 1895, Coca-Cola was sold throughout the United States and

around the globe.

Benjamin Thomas and Joseph Whitehead were given rights from founder Asa

Griggs Candler to distribute Coca-Cola. These two men created a high speed bottling and

distribution system that became a big hit and the first American soft drink machine. By

1923, Coca-Cola was introduced by a variety of ways on how to serve the beverage. Six

bottle carton and metal and the open top cooler enabled Coca-Cola to be sold ice cold. In

1990, investors Ernest Woodruff and W.C Bradley bought Coca-Cola for twenty-five million

dollars the Coca-Cola company was revolutionized from there on. As the years went on

Coca-Cola introduced the new ten, twelve and sixteen ounce King size and Family size

bottles, these became popular (Myers 5) in the 1950s . The most recognized Coca-Cola

bottle is the plastic two liter bottle which was introduced in 1970 and is still known today

and used in big and even small events all over.

The Coca-Cola Company introduced Diet Coke in 1982 which was a big hit until

2005 the company released Coke Zero. This beverage somehow appealed to mostly men,

maybe it had to due with the black can, it too had artificial sweetener aspartame but was

meant to taste identical to the original. The company's sales growth went through the roof

for quite some time. In 2014 the company introduced Coca-Cola life which was the

company's new way of serving the beverage by using sugar cane that came from the stevia

plant this gave the drink ninety calories per green can. It was until 2015, Coca-Cola's diet

soda was struggling because customers were uneasy about the amount of consumptions

of sugar substitutes. This was the first time the company had a major issue with its

marketing.

What made the company's increase in sales was the Share A Coke campaign.

This movement was the biggest of them all, the company came up with selling Coke bottles

and cans that had over 200 of the world's most popular names. This movement created a

personal touch and had people share about it all over social media which made it a big hit

and continues to as of today. The Coca-Cola company has been rewarded to be ranked

the fifty eighth company in the Fortune 500 Companies collection and will, over the years

make its way to the top. Today's CEO Muhtar Kent will continue the legacy of the

Coca-Cola experience and the taste that will never loose its taste.

This graph represents the profit of each bottle that was made over the years. As

seen in the photo the eight point five ounce bottle was a success with $1.60. In the article

Less is more by Brooke Metz talks about the company's newest shipping ways and how

the packing is having customers craving more. This great marketing strategy boosted

transactions and led Coca-Cola back on its way on being a fast pace, hustling, booming

company.

The name Coca-Cola was inspired by a famous proverb, Success is not a

destination but a journey and that is exactly what this company is about. The Coca-Cola

company slogan and marketing strategies have changed throughout the years and is

recognized in American culture. This journey and the amazing changes Coca-Cola has

been through have appealed to customers all over the globe, together we will always

Taste the Feeling and be thrilled to Open Happiness.
