Sudha Chandran is a very popular film and television

actress and a renowned classical dancer. She took a


career in acting after the major mishap in her life due
to which she lost her leg in the year 1982. From a very
tender age only she vowed to become a big star and
she has successfully achieved her ambition.

Early Life and Education of Sudha Chandran


She hailed form a South Indian family as a result of
which she was very much academically inclined. She
did her B.A. in Economics from Mithibai College in
Mumbai and followed it up with M.A. degree. She lost her right leg in south India and
that, she says, was the toughest phase of her life. Yet she fought the situation and
overcame the her disability with prosthetic `Jaipur Foot` to become one the most
popular dancers in the Indian subcontinent.

Career of Sudha Chandran


After she lost her leg due to an accident in the year 1982, her decision of coming back
into the dancing arena after a brief gap of two years was met with a thunderous
applause. She received invitations from all over the world for performances and she
was honoured with various awards after she performed as far as the European
countries, Canada and the Middle East. Soon after that Sudha Chandran catapulted to
fame and recognition by venturing into the world of films and television. Sudha
Chandran holds a firm belief that each country has its own heroes who have never
accepted defeat. She always thought of asking herself "What next". The individual
who tops her list of inspirations is Helen Keller. She holds the belief strongly that the
seeds of achievement lie in the human mind and as soon as this realisation struck her,
there was no looking back.
In the year 1984 Sudha Chandran acted in a Telugu film Mayuri in which she played
herself. Naach Mayuri was a Hindi remake of the Telugu original and the entire cast of
the film was changed except the character of Sudha Chandran. After giving into the
golden opportunity of acting she felt that she was able to make it big in her life. She
met the owner of Cinevista Communications who offered her in a TV serial titled Sahil
wherein she got noticed once again. Soon after that she anchored the show Shriman
Shrimati directed by Rajan Waghdhare. The director was so impressed by her work
that he offered her a role in another serial called Kabhi Idhar Kabhi Udhar. Then she
appeared in a stream of soaps after which the exciting offer of Kahiin Kissi Roz came
her way. Life took a dramatic turn for Sudha Chandran after she played the character
of Ramola Sikand in the soap. Sudha Chandran also participated in a dance reality
show Jhalak Dikhla Jaa.

Sudha Chandran is a spontaneous actress and a


popular face in the Indian television industry.

Helen Keller

(1880 - 1968) - Helen Adams Keller (June 27, 1880 - June 1, 1968)

was an American author, activist and lecturer. She was the first

deaf/blind person to graduate from college. She was not born blind and deaf; it was

not until nineteen months of age that she came down with an illness described by

doctors as "an acute congestion of the stomach and the brain", which could have

possibly been scarlet fever or meningitis. The illness did not last for a particularly

long time, but it left her deaf and blind. Keller went on to become a world-famous

speaker and author. She is remembered as an advocate for people with disabilities

amid numerous other causes.

Albert Einstein
When talking about the famous disabled people the first name
that comes to the mind is that of the great Albert Einstein.
Albert Einstein who is the greatest scientist of the twentieth
century and the greatest physicist of all time had a learning
disability in the early parts of his life.

Till the age of three he could not speak and was severely
dyslexic and autistic. As he grew older he started to focus on
the only thing he was exceptional at and that was mathematics. Soon he fought his
disability and entered into the world of theoretical physics where he changed the face
of physics and science forever.

His theory of relativity is said to be the most revolutionary theory of physics.


He won a Nobel Prize for his photoelectric effect theory in 1921.
John Milton
John Milton is one of the greatest and learned English poets of all
times. He is said to be the most knowledgeable English poet of all
time.

He spent most of his life working on theology, philosophy and history but he became
blind at the age of 43.

It was after he became blind he wrote what is called one the masterpieces of English
literature THE PARADISE LOST.

The fact that John Milton did not allow his blindness to stop him from writing poems
and that he wrote his finest poems during his blindness makes him one of the most
admirable disabled people of the world.

Thomas Edison
Thomas Edison, one of the greatest inventors of all time, he
is the reason why we are using bulbs today.

He is the one who set the foundation for most of the


electrical things that we use today.

No one can imagine that this great inventor of the 19th


century was partially deaf and had a learning disability as a
child. He could not read up the age of 11 and was never the favorite amongst the
teacher, but then who knew that the kid who could not read would one change the
face of world with his inventions.

He turned the attention of the world first time by the invention of phonograph after
that nothing could stop him.

He invented the electrical bulb and the telegraphic system.


He invented the carbon Telephone emitter which was the basis for the invention of
carbon microphone. Indeed he was a great scientist and a great man.

Helen Keller
With out a spec of doubt Helen Keller is the bravest and the
most amazing disabled person ever born.

She was deaf, blind and mute and despite of this she was one
of the greatest women activist, socialist, authors and was the
first deaf blind person to get a bachelors degree is arts.

How did she do it? The answer is sheer determination and


Anne Sullivan. Anne Sullivan was Helens tutor who motivated her to study and
compelled her to use her sense of touch and her mental power to achieve all the
success that she was capable to achieve.

Helen Keller was born a normal child, but at the age of three a fever hit her which
made her loose her sense of vision, hearing and speaking.

Her parents hired for her a tutor at the age of twelve who was Anne Sullivan. With
the aid and support of Anne, Helen Achieved the success no one had ever imagined a
deaf blind and mute person would do
