Islamic manners have been demonstrated and shown to us by Rasulullah and are told to us
in different hadith as well. It has said that many Muslims astray from the Sunnah and the
teachings of Rasulullah and restrict their view of religion merely to ibadat. One topic of
manners is about manners with parents: Rasulullah said your mother comes before all.
(except Allah and the prophets) A man asked Rasulullah: Oh, Messenger of Allah, who is the
most worthy of my best conduct? He answered: Your mother! Your mother! Your mother!
Then your father, then the next, and the next.
Islam emphasises on manner and on the way to deal others, whether they are Muslim or
not. Having good relations between people is very important in Islam, maintaining good
relationships is also a priority and teaching others how to respect their parents and family
members. One narration says prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said: I have been sent to perfect
the best of manners. Kindness to neighbours is also verily emphasised in Islam, having a
good relationships with your neighbours, prophet Muhammad once said: if a person who
hurts their neighbours is not a believer. He also said that if a person does not hurt their
neighbours, they will enter paradise, even if the rest of their acts of worship are not numerous.
Controlling anger:
Once a man approached the Messenger of Allah (s) and asked: Advise me. Then the
Messenger of Allah (s) said:
Do not be angry. The man repeated the same question and (the Prophet) again said: Do
not be angry, and continued: He is not strong and powerful who throws people down but
he is strong who withholds himself from anger.
Allah created man and women, he gave them emotions like love, fear, hate, anger etc.
Everyone feels these typical emotions according to their situation or emotions. For instance,
Allah made fear so men could protect themselves and stay from evil and crime etc. Fear can
be used in a good way to astray people from evil corruption.
Forgiveness:
"Say: 'O my Servants who have transgressed against their souls! Despair not of the Mercy of
God: for God forgives all sins (except shirk): for He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.'" (39:53)
"And it is He who accepts repentance from His servants and pardons the evil deed and
knows what you do." (42:25)
Bismillah.
