to fruits and vegetables seasons without error.

Fruits and vegetables of season concept map (matching activity) created by using bubbl.us ,
presentation of vegetables and fruits prepared by using Prezi as Web2.0 presentation tool,
Survey by using Google form ( parent involvement activity)and an infographic about fruits
and vegetables according to seasons prepared with Pictochart

Teacher first hangs the infographic about the fruits and vegetables according to the seasons
to the wall of the classroom for children to make sense about the topic. Then she/he makes
a presentation by using Prezi in which there are some illustrations of fruits and vegetables.
They are separated into groups as summer fruits and vegetables or winter fruits and
vegetables. After making presentation, teacher distributes the matching cards and concept
map related with the seasonal fruits and vegetables. This concept map is prepared by using
Bubbl.us Children are supposed to match the pictures of vegetables and fruits according to
seasons.
Individual Learning Activities -

Group Learning Activities Children work as a group while matching the


pictures of fruits and vegetables in whole
concept map. Moreover, while teacher gives a
presentation, she asks questions to the
children which enables them to interact with
each other.
Summary
Teacher prepares the technical issues to show the Prezi slides on the screen. In this
presentation, teacher makes group the fruits and vegetables in such a way that there are
groups of summer fruits and vegetables, winter fruits and vegetables, fall fruits and
vegetables and spring fruits and vegetables. While making presentation, teacher explains
''these are winter fruits or summer fruits etc and we should eat them in their specific season.
She continues with the questions ''Which fruits and vegetables do we consume in summer
time, winter time etc. Which of them is your favorite summer fruit or vegetable? In this way,
teacher can take children's attention the seasonal fruits and vegetables during the
presentation. After finishing the presentation, teacher distributes the concept map and the
pictures of fruits and vegetables. Children are separated into small groups. These groups
come together and each group takes their concept map in A1 sized. Teacher shows the fruits
and vegetables concept map on the screen as well. The concept map includes the names of
the fruits and vegetables which are divided into groups according to the seasons. In the
concept map, the names of fruits and vegetables designed in such a way that each of them
has their own colors which are the clues for children to find out the fruits and vegetables
easily. Children match appropriate fruits and vegetables according to season. After finishing
the matching part, each group shares their concept map. At the end of the activity, teacher
continues with the evaluation part.
Measurement & Evaluation
Teacher asks assessment questions to the children to evaluate the learning process of the
activity.
Descriptive Questions: Which criteria did we pay attention to while making group of fruits
and vegetables? Which fruits and vegetables were there?
Affective Questions: What are your favorite fruits which are eaten in summer time?
Daily- Life Questions: While buying fruits and vegetables, which criteria do your parents pay
attention to?
Goal Oriented Questions: Who wants to share what to eat in this season? Did you have any
difficulties in matching the fruits and vegetables with the seasons?

Measurement & Assessment Activities Children are supposed to evaluate the fruits and

Parent involvement activity:
Teacher sends an e-mail to the parents,
Dear parents,
Today, we talked about the seasonal fruits and vegetables and made matching activity in
which children made a group of fruits and vegetables according to appropriate seasons. In
order to support your child's learning, I would like you to fill in the survey that includes two
parts, one of them should be filled by you and the other one should be done by your child
and you together. After you fill in the survey, we will prepare a chart related to habits of
consuming fruits and vegetables. Therefore, you can support our activity by filling in this
survey in a proper way.

Explanation regarding to the implementation of the plan
If there is a problem related with electricity, teacher can download the Prezi presentation as
a PDF format and she can print out the slides and explain the topic by showing slides to the
children.
