Summary
The Media Relations Assistant is involved in all aspects of the development and implementation
of Kagita Mikam Aboriginal Employment & Training client success stories strategy. In conjunction
with the Executive Director and other appropriate organization employees, the Media Relations
Assistant is responsible for developing and protecting the company's reputation by developing
the 2016 client success stories presentation for our funders and the public at large. Other duties
may be assigned as necessary.

Job Duties
Assisting in the developing, implementing and measuring external and internal Media
based communication plans as it relates to client success stories.
Compile and organize the day-to-day client interview requests for processing.
Collaborate with appropriate employees within the organization and use other resources
in a timely manner to determine appropriate presentation media.
Develop written materials including client success stories, Q&A, and on-site client photos
where applicable.
Build relationships with appropriate employees to identify opportunities for the
development of a client success stories presentation.
Help in developing an effective client questionnaire format for the development of the
client success stories presentation.
Provide feedback and weekly update to the Executive Director to ensure coordination
and communication of messages/news to both internal and external audiences.
Evaluate the effectiveness of media programs and communicate results back to the
appropriate staff within the organization.
Assist in the development and implementation of the client success stories presentation
strategy ensuring alignment with internal communications strategy and that it includes
day-to-day content development strategy and functional enhancements.
Serve as the editor and provide communications content for final success story
presentation.
Liaison and collaborate with employee groups and cross-functional teams as needed and
help provide creative solutions to communication problems.
Assistant internal communications resource to all departments.
Any other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Must possess excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with strong
writing and editorial abilities.
Highly organized with the ability to multitask.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, internet, and other related
tools.
Demonstrated success with Social Media tools such as Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and
others.
Must possess strong organization skills.
Must be able to meet tight deadlines and execute flawlessly on projects in a fast-paced,
often pressured environment and see a project through to completion.
Must have the excellent communications skills.
Must have the ability to work effectively in a team.
Must be capable of maintaining confidentiality, with a high level of accuracy regarding
information.
Proven ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships with internal and
external stakeholders and work effectively with all levels of employees is critical.
Other duties as assigned.

Work Conditions
Travel may be required.
Ability to interview clients and develop presentations.
Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
Various working schedule including some nights, weekends and holidays.
Overtime as required.
