Alexandra's initial placement was in a grade 2/3 class however, she asked if she would be able to spend one day a week with me in my role as a Student Support Counsellor. Alexandra spent every Wednesday with me from October until the end of April. While on placement, Alexandra had her own caseload of students that she would check in with on a regular basis. Some of the needs of these students included behaviour, trauma, attachment, poverty, mental health and family dysfunction, Alexandra also assisted me in delivering two primary classroom programs, Fun Friends, which focused on reducing anxiety in children, Alexandra also successfully ran a social skills group for girls that she planned completely on her own. Alexandra was always on time for placement, she came to work prepared and took great care in planning activities to meet the needs of the different students she would be working with that day. Children that had the pleasure to work with Alexandria would always look forward to their time with her and were sad to see her leave. Lwish Alexandra great success for her future.
