Speeches

1. Policy Speech

Hello America! I, Hillary Clinton, am running yet again for president. I have spoken with many

people about my policy platform, LAND, and I wanted to go into depth about the platform, other areas of

interest within my campaign, along with the rationale for this policy and my dramatic shift in political

ideology. The first thing I would like to address is this shift in my beliefs. I have been in politics for

decades, now, and I have been both a Republican and a Democrat. After this past loss, I reevaluated my

beliefs and realized my path to the White House would take an Independent turn. This policy addresses an

issue that applies to all Americans. LAND, an acronym for Lower Americas National Debt, is a serious

platform targeted to solve a serious issue. Now, lets be clear: this policy is attainable with the goals I

have for myself in the event that I am elected.

Mark my words: the next thing I will say is not a personal jab at either of my opposing

candidates; it is merely a fact of life regarding political parties. When a candidate belongs to a party, they

have the duty of following their platform. The Democrat and Republican parties both have clear-cut

political values, so it makes sense that their candidates wouldn't stray far from their party lines. As an

Independent, I have the independence to initiate LAND, a policy that will help America greatly while

remaining independent from a constraining political party.

Currently, Americas debt is approximately $19.8 trillion dollars. For every citizen of our

precious United States, the debt amounts to around $61,072 dollars (Amadeo). This is a ridiculous

number. If our debt crisis is shoved under the rug of American politics, future American generations will

have to pay for the consequences of our current political climate. I plan on tackling this problem from a
Julia Williamson

few different angles. The first will be to increase taxes and create a fair tax system (this is also one of my

platforms subgoals). The second is to cut some social programs. I have made myself very clear in that I

support social programs, and Im an Independent that swings left, but there is one place in particular that

Id like to cut. That is uncontrollable expenditures. The US government uses most of its budget to pay for

Social Security of the elderly population. As an elderly person myself, I understand Social Securitys

importance; however, I believe that raising the eligibility age by a year or two will help solve this debt

crisis immensely. The other area where I want to cut a fraction of funding is our nations military

spending. As stated by The Balance, military spending is our second largest expenditure, and its budget

for 2018 is $824.7 billion dollars (Amadeo, Heres the $250).

The next bullet on my agenda is to maintain national security. In the midst of foreign and

domestic terrorism, we need to work together to unite the public, prepare for, and prevent future terrorist

attacks. I intend to accomplish this through education, and outreach to the public.

I will also fight for the equality of all Americans. No matter who you are, I hold the firm belief

that you deserve to be treated with respect this is yet another goal I will accomplish through educating

Americans, young and old alike.

The final issue I will address today is the environment. America, we are the country that produces

the most waste out of the entire world (Loki). We are the dirtiest country there is! How pathetic is that?

We need environment reform that will reduce this terror of trash, and we need to start helping the

environment now so its not as much of an issue later. I would like to stress that the two issues Im

emphasizing the most, our debt and our crippled environment, are two serious problems. Both are fixable,

but if we realistically want to solve either we must start now.

This election, my platform has changed greatly from my past Democrat-party platform. I would

like to say that my policy now is better than before, because Im concentrated on such specific issues and
Julia Williamson

these issues that typically fly under the radar are finally being addressed. My political goals are attainable

this time around, because LAND and the rest of my policy have defined objectives that are pragmatic,

which reflects on my character as an experienced politician.

Before I finish, I would like to address the opinion that I am going to split the ballot. I think that

my platform has the ability to take the votes from both candidates and will win the presidency. I greatly

respect my fellow candidates, but I will not drop out because I see myself as the best candidate to sit in

that Oval Office. America, these past few days of campaigning have been an upHILLARY battle, but I

am prepared to initiate LAND and create policy now that will save America in the future. Thank you!

2. Opening Statement for debates

Hello, America! I would like to thank the news networks again for allowing me to participate in

this presidential debate, given that it's a rarity for an independent nominee to be represented on this stage.

Given that the topics of today are the ones that most people see as pressing, I personally doubt that the

national debt crisis will be discussed. Do not be surprised in the slightest if I question the policy goals of

my fellow candidates, because many of their policy initiatives will drain Americas wallet. I would also

like to mention that my platform is very specific, so it makes sense that I emphasize some points more

than others now that you've heard my preamble, I want to address the practice of debate during the

election. This is a fantastic event, and it has gained traction over my years in American politics and the

recent advancements of technology. The past speeches of the candidates have been apples to oranges.

Now, the citizens of America have the ability to see the candidates in action, and to compare the

candidates apples to apples. Based on the discussion you see today, you will see that I am the most

pragmatic candidate. You will see that I am the most dedicated candidate. You will see that I am the most

experienced candidate. You will choose to vote me, Hillary Clinton, into office.

OP-ED (Submitted to the Weekly Report)

Running for presidency is demanding. As a third party candidate, gaining traction for a campaign

is much harder because an independent campaign receives far less time and money than the two major

party candidates. I would like to express my gratitude to the news channels that let me participate in the

recent presidential debate. The debate invitation was shocking, because most third party candidates dont

get to debate. This is because a candidate needs at least 15% of public support in order to join the

discussion. I believe its time for this to change. We must lower the 15% so that more serious presidential

candidates are allowed to join the discussion, regardless of the resources funneled into their campaign.

Short Fact Checks, Research, etc.

Note: I fact-checked myself, because while I acted as Hillary Clinton would have in terms of dedication, I

definitely strayed from my past Democrat ticket to try to wrangle the moderate vote.

A few checks on myself:

- Im still a Democrat in real life (in POTUS Im an Independent)

- LAND isnt a real policy (I made it for the sake of POTUS)

- I would never have Sarah Palin as my running mate (no matter how close Amy Poehler and Tina

Fey are)

- One thing I would like to point out was that my hip to the kids memes stayed true to HC

- I also wouldnt be in on a plan that involves myself dying

Checks/General notes on other people:

- Rick Perry would never be on Warrens campaign

- One campaign wouldnt typically get to address another at a press conference

- The attack ad released against me had none of my policy in it and was completely ad hominem

- Both major candidates agree that its not the time for me to run

Daily Log

Day 1

Today, I had to do many things to further the Hillary Clinton campaign. I started the day by

attending the campaign announcements of Sen. Warren and Sen. Haley. Not knowing too much about

either candidate, I listened to both of them and brainstormed questions for the press conference to ask

them. After their announcements, I gave a separate press conference announcing my campaign and my

policy, LAND (Lower Americas National Debt) in the BNC studio. LAND is a policy I made up to

make my campaign stick out from Elizabeth Warrens; however, this didnt stop people from thinking

that I would split the ticket. Afterwards I gave interviews with both print news sources about my

campaign, LAND, and other aspects of my platform. It was pretty obvious that I would get a good report

from the Weekly Report, and a conservative perspective from the District Report as I was asked questions

during each interview. I finally attended the 10:15 press conference, spoke with more reporters, and spoke

with the Warren campaign who wanted me to drop out of the race. My last moments of the day were spent

talking with corrupt President Nakamura, who would give his support if I paid him.

Day 2

This was when things started getting interesting. The past night I announced Obama as my VP

pick over Twitter, which caused some backlash based on constitutionality arguments. The minute I

walked into school, I filed a request for investigation into Nakamuras sketchy actions. Directly after, he

fired FBI Director Russell (in what I considered to be a simple cover up) until I learned soon after that

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg had passed away and that Russell would replace her. This

flowed well, because I was sued by Dexter Mueller on my VP pick, and she planned on judging the

official court case. After all of this happened, I went down to the studio and started filming a pro-Hillary

campaign ad. During the filming, Lexie and Willow pulled me out of the room to discuss a potential

assassination (see Day 4 for details). To finish off the day, I went to the press conference and spoke with

Warren again after she answered questions. It was clear that she wanted me to join her campaign team so

I wouldnt split the ticket.

Day 3

Many big-ticket events happened today. For one, I wrote and submitted an op ed about third party

participation in presidential debates, and I submitted it to the Weekly ReCAP for possible publication.

Then, I attended to the VP debate, but had to leave early to finish preparing to my debate. I had a blast at

the presidential debate, although I dont think I did too well because my platform didnt spread out as far

as either of my opponents. After the debate loss, I met with my lawyers briefly to discuss the case, and

walked into the 157 Supreme Courtroom with a decent amount of hope for a victory. It was

gut-wrenching to watch how much my side lost. After officially having lost the case, I chose Sarah Palin

to become my next VP pick. This choice had two major factors. The first was that she would help me

snag the conservative vote, and the second was that no one else wanted to endorse me. This VP

announcement was followed quickly by a press conference I attended and spoke at, and I ended the day

by relaxing at the Scandal Senate hearings.

Day 4

Hillary Clinton kind-of-sort-of-died. Since Thursday, I was in on Lexie and Willows plan to

assassinate me over the weekend and pin it on President Nakamura. I tweeted a vague message Saturday

night, and prepared evidence that would allow my assassins to blame it on him. I got up early, packed all

the evidence, and snuck into the school through the backdoor so my peers wouldnt see me. I was so

excited to cause a scandal, and I sat happily compiling my POTUS work for a bit at the beginning of the

day. After the news of the murder broke, and subsequently forced me to reincarnate because my death had

crossed a line. I had mixed feelings after learning that I had offended some people with my death. For

one, I felt guilty. This was just supposed to be a fun simulation, and scandals were encouraged. The

second thing I felt was frustrated. Death is a touchy subject that shouldnt usually be joked about. In this

case, though, I figured that everything would be okay considering that Russell gave the plan two thumbs

up to Lexie and Willow (who got my consent for my murder). Basically, I was happy to oblige for the

sake of people's feelings but a bit upset because I hadnt expected such opposition to a fake death in a

scandal-ridden simulation. After resurfacing, I dusted myself off and gave a few interviews, attend the

Warren rally (I had nothing else planned), and spoke at the final press conference.
