Moby Dick
The character that I admire most in Moby
Dick is Starbuck, one of the crew on the Pequod
and Captain Ahabs able assistant. Although
initially he seems very stern and unfriendly,
Starbuck is brave, loyal and trustworthy. Starbuck
does not agree with the captains plan to go after
Moby Dick and thinks it is a crazy idea that will
get them killed. Although one day he has the
opportunity to kill the captain and take over the
ship, Starbuck decides not to and leaves his fate to
chance. I find him admirable because in the end he
chose not to kill because he knew it was wrong
even though his life was in danger.
