RIVER OF LIFE

FELLOWSHIP CENTER
Cambodia

1st half of 2017

January to June

Greetings from Cambodia

Praise God for providing us a church where the local students who accepted
the Lord in our other village can go and worship the Lord. Now they are not
only attending church but they are learning to serve as well. Its been a ROL Vision
wonderful two years journey of His grace and mercy upon ROL centre. God
has sustained us through every need, activities and opportunities to touch To build
lives and make a difference although we have started this fellowship by faith Strong People
and God has been providing by faith as well. Strong Families
Strong Church
Within the two years, we have been able to structure the fellowship into
different departments to suit the needs of our members. We started the Where every member

about 40-70 kids who comes to enjoy fun, games, singing and learning about
Jesus. We also have the cell groups running weekly and the all church prayer
meeting and a medical talk at the end of the month.

In the 1st quarter of this year many thing has taken place. On January 21st, we
conducted baptism for 2 sisters. They both proclaimed their faith in Jesus and
decided to get baptized. Taking a step to believe in Jesus is a very significant
thing here in Cambodia. Its like giving up their ancestral believe and thank
God their family allowed them to make their own decisions.

KHMER NEW YEAR CELEBRATING JESUS

The other highlights were a celebration for Khmer New Year. We shared about giving thanks to God in the New
Year and how it was a touching moment when the parents came up and allowed
their kids to wash their feet. A sign of respect and
love. One of the mothers cried as she now
understands why her daughter has believed in
Jesus and the good values the daughter has been
learning.
Cell groups
We have been able to establish 3 cell
groups during the week. The womens
group runs on a Tuesday, Senior Citizen
group runs on Thursday afternoon and
the mens group on Friday morning. The
purpose of these groups is to keep the
members close in fellowship to study
Gods word.

Bong Poun cannot see the world with her eses

for 1 year. She has spent all her money to cure
her eyes. But her money cannot help her. When
money had finished, her husband did not bring
her to anywhere. She just stay at home and wait
for husband to serve her. One day, Oum Te, from
the senior citizen cell group brought us to see
her.

After we saw her, we felt helpless but we trust that God

could help her. So we shared to her about Jesus and she accepted the Lord as her Lord
and Savior. Her hope is that one day, she will see again and she continuesly trust God
to heal her.

In the next few days, God has open the way for us to share to her husband. Pastor Argie,
Ovaltin and I shared about Jesus to him. His name is Mao. At first, he was hesitatant,
because he feel that he is betraying his ancestor whom he has been loyal to for more
than 40 years. It was not easy for him to adapt to another religion.

However we are so thankful to God who is working in his life. He said, if this God
can heal my wifes eyes. I will believe in Him. We share to him, we cannot demand
God to do what we want but He will do according to His will.

One thing that He has assured to us when we believe in Him. He is willing to forgive
and clean us all our sin. After that he decides to accept the Jesus as His Lord and
Savior. So we thank God for soften his heart and make room God. I thank you to
those who pray for us. To God be glorify.

Joshua Generation

We started this generation club for young teenagers to come and feel part of
the church. Many faithful boys come to have bible study and bonding. They are
learning the New Life book. In this book, the lessons help them to understand
God better and keep their faith stable. One day we thought maybe its not good
to just have bible study without anything practical. So Jhune Mar started
exercises with them, teaching them how to
shoot the basketball and some techniques.
But the boys here really like football. So Jhune
Mar and Yi decided to bring them to the city
to play with other groups. From one month, it
led to many months of them wanting to come
to the city to play. We chipped in money from
the staff to help subsidize the boys every time
they come so that they will have foot and they
will sleep in the office floor. So every Saturday, the boys gather for their bible study and practice and every 3 rd
Saturday, they come to the city to challenge other groups. They practice football techniques and have formed
a good football team. Last month, they had a competition against few churches but sad to say, they did not win
but they do not lose hope and look forward to more competition.
The girls come together to learn of Gods word weekly. They just love coming to learn more about Jesus
because many of them are not Christians yet but through the ACTS program, they wanted to know more of
Jesus and we tell them to come on the
weekend as ACTS is not supposed to be a
time to share religious teaching. For a
month now, the girls have been coming to
learn dance, songs and play games. We
believe these girls will grow up and will
shine for Jesus. They also come for Mighty
Kids weekly.

Prayer Meeting
In this New Year, ROL started the all church prayer meeting. It is held
every Saturday of the month. There is about 20-40 members including
teenagers, young adults coming to
pray and all these months we see
how God is just working amid the
lives of our brothers and sisters. We
believe prayer is a great way to
build them strong and to have a
closer relationship with God. When prayers are answered, they see the
reality of what a mighty God is and acknowledges that he is a living God.
We always encourage them to have a passion for their country and pray
for the families, for peace in the world.
MIGHTY KIDS
We are so grateful for the call to start the Mighty Kids club. This will provide a
platform for the children to have a sense of belonging and come to learn some
good values about Jesus. They come early each week excited to sing and Praise
the Lord, to learn the lessons and they are divided into their care groups to learn
to share and enjoy some attention. There are between 40-70 kids a week on
Sunday. They are from several surrounding villages. Many of them are not from
Christian families but that does not stop them from
enjoying Jesus.
There is a ACTS girl who attends mighty
kids and her mother is a witch doctor. Her
name is Srey Yory. In spite of the mothers
practice, Srey Yorys mother is supportive
of her joining us and coming to
Mighty Kids despite her witch craft
practice. There is a Christian group
who is helping their family with rice
each month. We believe she knows
Jesus but she is bounded in this
witch craft practice for her reason. We pray she will come to know Jesus
one day as she comes and learn the story of Jesus in different aspects. This
month Mighty Kids children learned lessons like do not steal, do not lie,
how not to use bad words, did an object lesson about sin describing dirty
shoes with mud represents our sin. They all know they need to have Jesus to cleanse their sins and make them
whole. Thats why so many of them accepted Jesus. Some of them come to church in the afternoon as well.
They feel peaceful and filled with joy as they come to sing praises to Jesus.

Health Talk
The health talk was started as a bridge between church and community. We
thank God for Mrs. Toinette Rossouw who has taken up this role to hold a
health talk every end of the month. This gives ROL the opportunity to build
relationship with the ladies and young girls who attends the talk which is
held under the tree. We pray that will enable church members to build a
relationship with other families in the
village. We have been meeting at a house
in the village every end of the month. At
first, we invited only the women. But this
year, we want to reach to the men too. There are 6 8 women who comes
faithfully. They are interested to learn more about their own bodies and
have many question. We hand out the vitamin and check their blood
pressure. It seems very hard to reach out men. Men always work outside of
their house.

Weekly Church Service

We Praise God for about 25-30 members each week who comes to
worship & praise our God. We trust God to provide the needs of the
church as we are independently running this fellowship by contributions
from the FGCCLC Staffs whom we started together, and occasionally God
touches the heart of different people and
members to give, they give what they can
as they are all farmers. We move & grow
the ministry as the Lord provides.

Thank you for praying for us and the church. We look forward for more
spiritual growth as we continue to trust God to lead our path.

PARTNERSHIP WITH YOU

As we are not being supported by any source of funding, we would like to ask if you can PRAY with us regarding
the following needs for the running of our church monthly.
MIGHTY KIDS We need about $150 a month to run the mighty kids. This includes snacks, activities, prizes for the
exchange coupons and transportation fuel to get these kids. We cook special meal for them once a month. It was
affordable for us at the beginning but now as the children began to grow in numbers, it has been quite challenging
for us to finance the activities.
JOSHUA GENERATION Our need is new jerseys for the football team. It will cost around $110 once off to get
around 15 suits with printing. And the month football game in the city with other churches we need around $20

SOCIAL FUNDING We appreciate funding in this department because we are constantly faced with needs around
us. Children or families that does not have food or medical needs.
For more information of the partnership above, please write: Ms. Angela Bruyns fgcjbmissions@gmail.com ,
Pastor Lan Yi lanyisonofgod@gmail.com or Pastor Argie Fernandez argslove07@gmail.com.
