The Sir Edmund Hillary Alpine Centres 126-seat custom-
designed theatre is the worlds first theatre with 2D, 3D
and Digital Dome Planetarium, contained within the same
space.
View planetarium movies, documentaries such as Hillary
on Everest and the 3D cinematic experience, Mount Cook
Magic. This is the next best thing to climbing Mount Cook,
flying across the Southern Alps or skiing the Tasman
Glacier.
In the foyer of the theatre youll find our museum
showcasing the history of the Mount Cook region through
transport, climbing, The Hermitage Hotel and pioneer
