ABSTRACT
Ovarian cysts are one of the reproductive system disorders that are often
experienced and become the cause of women death and was characterized by
lumps in the ovary which cause has not been understood. This study aimed to
determine the characteristics of women with ovarian cysts cases in BLUD RS dr.
Doris Sylvanus Palangkaraya and used descriptive method with secondary data
source that come from the register books and medical records of BLUD RS dr.
Doris Sylvanus Palangkaraya with 58 samples. The results obtained with the
incidence of ovarian cysts women were 58 cases with most types of ovarian cysts
dextra discovered as many as 22 cases (38%), based on the characteristics of
ovarian cysts, most cases occurred in women who suffer from ovarian cysts with
pathologic characteristics a total of 32 cases (55%). Based on the age, most
women aged 20-45 years with 42 cases (72%) who suffered from ovarian cysts.
Based on education, obtained the highest with 25 cases (43%) of women with a
high school education. Based on the work, obtained the highest with 42 cases
(73%) of women working as housewives. Based on Parity, obtained the most with
20 cases (34%) of women who have no children (nullipara). Based on history of
contraception, obtained the highest 21 cases (36%) with the women who are not
using contraception. These results were obtained in accordance with a review of
the existing theory. The conclusion that can be drawn is the woman with ovarian
cysts occur in the cyst with pathologic characteristics, age 20-45 years old, high
school education, IRT work, do not have children, and are not using
contraception. Suggestions are given that women can better know the state of his
body.
