STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

Live like you are going to die tomorrow and learn like you are going to live forever.

The process of learning continues throughout once life says an old adage. As one goes on
learning new things, one realizes that there are many more things which one needs to learn
to quench ones thirst for knowledge. During the course of my undergraduate study I have
learnt many things but I have also realized that I need to learn more to advance frontiers in
my field of interest. A graduate study is the next step in my quest for knowledge and to bring
out my forte to the fore.

Electronics has always been an orphic subject for me. Electronics in its applications and
technology was always an unanswered question for me. As I grew older the questions were
answered but at the same time many new questions with more complexity started haunting
me. This search for the answers aroused a passion towards Electronics and started exploring
the developments and applications in electronics but that did not quench my thirst for
knowledge. Then I could understand only a graduate education can offer me a great deal of
intellectual and personal satisfaction and challenge. The undergraduate program in
Electronics and Communication engineering (E.C.E) at Sree Vidyanikethan Engineering
College not only helped me to build a solid foundation of Electronics and Communication
engineering fundamentals but also made me conceptually sound in the vast field of
both Computers and Electronics. During the course of my study, I developed unique interest
in the areas of Signals and systems, Microprocessor and Micro controller, Operating systems,
Data and Computer Communications, Digital Signal Processing, VLSI and programming
languages like C and Java.

Due to my growing interest on hardware concepts and software programming skills, I chose
the area of Embedded Systems for my undergraduate project work. I worked on a Academic
project titled Electric Lineman Safety With Advanced Password Management System Using
GSM Interface. This project is designed to control a circuit breaker by using a password for
the safety for electric lineman were the system is fully controlled by PIC microcontroller
enhanced by interfacing the system with a GSM module for remotely controlling the circuit
breaker via SMS and exploit the feature of OTP for a more secured system interaction.

Your esteemed institution has a peerless reputation for emphasizing practical knowledge

Summarizing all written above, I believe that my serious intention for study, my projects, my
certifications and strong academic background in various areas of Electronics will be
beneficial for my graduate studies and research. Attending your prestigious institution
would give me an opportunity to receive high-level education under the guidance of
prominent professors and excellent teachers. I would regard my admission
to University of not only as a great honor but also as a great responsibility and challenge to
prove myself.
