Century Enka (CEL) is engaged in manufacturing and marketing yarns. The company is a part of
the B K Birla group of companies.

The company offers nylon and polyester filament yarns, polyester partially oriented yarn (POY),
jumbo beams, specialty yarns and industrial fiber grade chips, industrial yarns, and nylon tyre cord
fabrics. CEL markets its products under the brand name Enkalon.

CEL operates two manufacturing plants under the names Konkan Synthetic Fibres located in Mahad
in India; and Rajashree Polyfil located in Bharuch, Gujarat, India.

History

HISTORY

Century Enka (CEL), a joint venture between the B K Birla group and Accordis group of Netherland,
was established in 1965.

CEL was delisted from the Delhi Stock Exchange Association in 2004.

The company commenced the commercial production at Bharuch site in 2005.

In 2006, CEL was delisted from the Calcutta Stock Exchange Association (CSE).

In 2010, the company relocated its registered address from the state of West Bengal to the state of
Maharashtra in India.

CEL suspended the operations at its manufacturing facility in Mahad, India in 2012.

In 2013, the company halted its operations at the Bharuch plant in Gujarat, India for re-engineering
and modification of its continuous polymer operations.

Rajashree Birla was appointed as a Director at the company in May 2015.
