Introduction
The VII Conference of the Pan American Network for Drug Regulatory Harmonization (CPANDRH), held in Ottawa,
Canada from September 5th7th, 2013 with the theme Sixteen years promoting Good Regulatory Practices in the
RegionoftheAmericas.ThisConferenceiscoordinatedbyPAHO,withthecollaborationandfinancialsupportofthe
RegulatoryAuthorityofCanada(HealthCanada).
The VII CPANDRH is held every two or three years. Its mission to promote drug regulatory harmonization for all
aspects of quality, safety, and efficacy of pharmaceutical products as a contribution to the quality of life and health
careofthecitizensoftheMemberCountriesoftheAmericas.
ThefirstCPANDRHwasheldin1997inWashington,D.C.,andisconsideredtohavebeenthefirststepinthecreation
ofthePanAmericanNetworkforDrugRegulatoryHarmonization(PANDRH).Sincethen,atotalofsixconferenceshave
taken place;three in the United States of America (1997, 1999 and 2002), and one each in the Dominican Republic
(2005),Argentina(2008),andBrazil(2011).
ThispresentConferenceisanimportantmomentinthePharmaceuticalRegulationoftheAmericasbecausethefocus
willbethePANDRHStrategicDevelopmentPlan20142020,whichaimsto:
Promote efficient governance of the network, active participation and cooperation of National Regulatory
Authorities(NRAs);
Establish priorities for regulatory harmonization and support their dissemination, adoption and
implementation;
PromotestrengtheningofGoodRegulatoryPractices;and
PromoteexchangesofexperiencesandlessonslearnedbetweenNRAsoftheAmericasandNRAsofother
regions.
Inordertocaptureandregistertheregulatoryworkandfutureperspectivesfromthestakeholders,theCPANDRHis
organizingapostersessionforparticipants.
ThepostersessionattheVIICPANDRHaimstoprovideaplaceforpresentingthestateoftheartofdifferentregulatory
aspectsofhealthtechnologiesintheAmericasregion.
Eachposterispresentedonlyafteranabstractbytheauthorhasbeenapprovedbyacommitteeofexperts.
ThispublicationrepresentsaconsolidateddocumentthatwillincludealltheapprovedabstractstoVIICPANDRH.
DuringthelastdayoftheconferenceanEvaluationCommitteewillselectthreepostersforoutstandingexcellence.As
partoftherecognition,theauthorsofthethreeselectedposterswilleachreceiveanHonorableMentionCertificate.

LaConferenciadelaRedPanamericanaparalaArmonizacindelaReglamentacinFarmacutica(CPARF)secelebra

La primera Conferencia tuvo lugar en 1997 en Washington, D.C., y se considera que fue el primer paso para la
conformacin de la Red Panamericana para la Armonizacin de la Reglamentacin Farmacutica (Red PARF). Desde

Impulsar la gobernanza eficiente de la Red y la participacin y cooperacin activa de las Autoridades
