Dongri
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Dongri is a place in the Mira-Bhayandar city of Thane district situated just north of Gorai, Mumbai. The word
'Dungaree' (worker's overalls worn in Britain) has its origin from Dongri because these garments were made from
cloth from this place. The history of Dongri dates to the 17th century, when the Portuguese ruled the area.

The Church of Dongri, named as Our Lady of Bethlehem dates back to 1613, an inscription on the main entrance
of the Church tells us.[1]
