prevent bodily injury or device damage.
The device installation personnel must be well trained before installation, to master correct installation operations and safety
precautions.
Device installation shall follow local safety regulations. Precautions listed in this document are suppliments to local safety
regulartions. Raisecom shall not be reliable to any accident if common safety operation requirements are violated, or design,
manufacturing, or usage security standards for devices are violated.

Lightning safety
Device installation is prohabited in lightning and thunderstorm conditions to prevent bodily injury and device damage.

High-voltage safety
DO NOT install or remove the device when it is powered on, to prevent unpredictable bodily injury.
Use special tools instead of common tools when conducting operations in high voltage and AC power conditions.
Prevent the device from being rotted. Once the device is rotted, power off it immediately.

Electrostatic discharge safety

Any time when contacting the device, you must wear an Electro-Static Discharge (ESD) wrist strap in good contact with
skin and have the other end of the ESD wrist grounded.

Grounding safety
Ensure correct grounding before installing cables. Avoid installing the device before it is grounded.

Laser safety
Before cutting or welding fiber, disconnect the fiber and the optical source. DO NOT stare into the optical interface to
prevent eye injury.

for example.

2
Do not pile the device one above another. Otherwise, it will influence heat dissipation and thus
infulence partial functions of the device.

Installing device on rack

Install stardard brackets on both sides of device. Install floating nuts.

Insatlling device on wall

Install the wall-mount long brackets on both sides of Hammer screws on the wall and hang the device stably

1 Connecting grounding cable
The following grounding cable is recommended.
Item Description
Grounding Protective grounding round pressed terminal (M4)-OT-1715AWG
terminal (1.21.5 mm2)
Grounding Name: PIL-grounding cable-4-D, wherein, the letter D is the length
cable of the cable and can be customized. For example, if the customer
requires a 1m cable, name it PIL-grounding cable-4-1m.
Yellow/Green multi-strand copper-core conducting wire 16AWG
(1.25 mm2)
Electronic wire UL1007 or UL1005 is used.

Make the grounding cable according to its technical specifications.

Loosen the grounding terminal anticlockwise at the left side of the
device. There are grounding holes, from which you can choose either of them
according to the cabling requirements.
Put the flat shim, OT terminal, and spring shim in order as shown in the
left figure, and fix them with a screw on the grounding hole.
Connect the other end of the grounding cable to the grounding terminal
of the cabinet or the grounding bar in the equipment room.

2 Connecting Console cable

Connect one end of the Console cable to the Console interface on the
device.
Connect the other end of the Console to the USB interface on the PC or
configuration terminal.

Before connecting the Console cable, you need to download the USB driver
from the specified website and install it. For details, contact the technical
support engineers.

3 Connecting Ethernet cable/RJ45-type E1 cable

Make the Ethernet cable/E1 cable according to its technical

specifications.
Align the header of the Ethernet cable/E1 cable with the corresponding
interface, and insert it properly.

4
4 Connecting CC3 plug (RAX711-L-4GC4E1-S)
Inset the CC3 plug into the CC3 interface.

The E1 cable should be made according to the E1 interface type of the peer
device on site. After making the E1 cable, inset the CC3 plug into the CC3
interface.
For the RAX711-L-4GC4E1-S, you can order the CBL-E1-DB37F/8BNCF
cable.

connector with the interface on the SFP optical module, and
insert it properly.

6 Connecting power cable

Before installing power cables, ensure that the grounding cable is properly connected.
Before connecting and removing power cables, power off the device or disconnect power
connections.
Use the power cable that complies with technical specifications.

Connecting DC power cable

The DC power interface is a 3-pin Phoenix terminal, which is described as below.

Name Description
+ GND power input terminal
- -48 V power input terminal

Make the DC power cable according to its technical specifications.

Insert the plug of the DC power cable to the power interface on the device
properly.
Fasten the plug of the DC power cable with screws at both sides.
Insert the other end of the power cable to the cabinet or the power
sourcing equipment in the equipment room.

5
Connecting AC power cable

Connect the plug of the AC power cable to the device.

Insert the other end of the power cable to the cabinet or the power
sourcing equipment in the equipment room.
