SUMMARY OF THE TOPIC:

Philosophy is the study of ideas about knowledge, truth, the nature, and meaning of life
(Merriam Webster). It is the love for wisdom (Pythagoras) which was coined from a Greek words philos
and sophos. A philosophy is an art and so an art is a philosophy. Art is created by imagination and skills
that is beautiful and expressions of important ideas and feelings (Merriam Webster). In life, philosophy
treats it in terms of truth and principles while art see it as an expression of the beautiful and beautiful as
the expression of life. In part of the discipline, philosophy is concerned with ethical values while art is
more on the treatment of subject as for the sake of art (arts sake). In realities, philosophy looks at it in
its various aspects while art looks in aesthetic perspective. Both looks at everything as realities,
interpret, and appreciate.

Philosophical divisions namely, logical, natural, and moral philosophy were first introduced by
Plato, adopted by Aristotle and other philosophers. Recently, philosophy has two divisions, namely pure
and applied. Pure or theoretical philosophy deals with ideas in the mind or draws out in the mind like
logic while applied or practical philosophy deals with application or action taken up by this division like
aspects of life, universe, society and values. Philosophy of business belongs to applied philosophy which
deals more on philosophical concepts, ethical principles, and social responsibilities. These philosophical
concepts are fundamental principles of industry (production), commerce (marketing), and business
management.
 In different questions of philosophy, reality is the most focus, where realities as ideas in mind
(Logic), as being (Metaphysics), as quantity (Physics and Math), and in its causality (4 Philosophical
causes). It also falls to the realm of epistemology and to practical philosophy. On the other hand,
sourcing philosophical principles is either in priori or posteriori. Priori is prior to experience and the
deductive reasoning form general or universal principle to specific which does not happen yet while
posteriori is drawn from experience from specific and obtaining general principle which happened
already and always matter of probability. To conceptualize philosophy of business, a business has
characteristics similar to science and art which are structure-wise and process-wise respectively.
Governed by principles in the production, marketing and management, and through policies, strategies,
and practices, it is designs for products and decision-making strategies.

Looking for the ultimate causes makes it a philosophy. Theories and principles defining the
business(formal), goods and services it deals with (material), people involved as well as the environment
(efficient), and the purpose of it which is to earn profit and for consumer to provide their needs (final)
are the bases of philosophical perspective of the business.

REACTION/COMMENTS:

Philosophy is an art and art is philosophy. This shows us how a real artist reacts to a piece (art)
which for others has no meaning. For them, feelings and emotions were flooding. Artist used his or her
experience, knowledge, and even his or her surroundings to create a piece, with this involvement
philosophy exist. Ideas that one found, cultivated, and accumulated is helpful in our daily lives. It may
show and present us with different questions, but not all of questions are being answered although it
exists many years ago. The knowledge that we have changes every day, it may improve or reduce
depending on the accumulated knowledge. Some answers were still accepted based on the present
studies of our philosophers who always blend to each of ones life.
On the other hand, the reasoning of a person helps him or her, understands the existence of
things and things which will never happen. It may based on observation and experience or prior
experience

REFLECTION/LEARNING:

The appreciation of things separates an artist to an ordinary person. With the simple creation,
the mind of an artist arrives anywhere because of the fullness of his or her ideas were artist views
realities that make him or her as philosopher. In the other sense, business is service and art having
process and structures starting from the product it produce or services it serve, to the design, packaging,
and the composition. To create products or services, the business must apply the four ultimate causes
because it affects the business as a whole without the other. This will be a missing piece which makes it
successful.
There are also answers to everything if we have knowledge or wisdom. This knowledge may
change overtime unlike wisdom which stays as is for many years based on many experiences we gained
in life and due to our reasoning. We answer questions in different bases we had that come from our
ideas, as being, surroundings, quantity, causality, and many more. We used these in order to receive
answers. Its also true that business is created with the purpose of providing goods or services to
consumers that satisfies their needs.
