Alexander V.

Rusinoff (Russian:
; 25 October 1952 Saint Petersburg, Russian Federation - 7
February 2015, San Francisco, California - United Sates) is a
Russian-American inventor and scientist, who is best known for his
contribution to the science of concrete and his theory known as
Rusinoff's Osmotic Oscillator[1].

Dr. Rusinoff was born and raised in Saint Petersburg in the former
Soviet Union. In the 1960's, his family moved to Khabarovsk, where
he attended the Khabarovsk Polytechnic University, graduating in
1974 with a degree in Civil Engineering with a major in Structural
Physics. Until 1980, he worked as the Lead Engineer of the Building
Design Department at Aeropoekt, and then as a Lecturer at the
Department of Building and Structures at the Railway Academy of
Khabarovsk and consultant to the Amur Project Institute of Defense.
In 1987, Dr. Rusinoff graduated from the Institute of Structural Physics in Moscow with a Ph. D. in
Structural Physics. From 1984 to 1993, he was the Head of Research at the Structural Protection Laboratory
at the Academy of Railway Transportation in Khabarovsk, and the Head of the Science Department of the
Association of Structural Emergencies & Structural Protection.

In 1982, Rusinoff conducted a series of experiments which formed the basis of the theory about different
mechanisms of cement grain decay-hydration, and which led to the invention of a new type of additive to
concrete called Kalmatron. Experimental approval of the theory known as "Rusinoff's Osmotic Oscillator"
was published by the Dundee University of Scotland in 1990 [1]. Kalmatron was patented in the United
States in 1998. Dr. Rusinoff holds over 20 patents in the USA, Russia, China and other countries. For a full
list of patents, please see section 2 below, Published articles and Patents.

Dr. Rusinoff emigrated to the United States in 1994 and became a naturalized citizen. He was the President
of Structural Protection Enterprise until 1993, and founded Kalmatron Corporation in 2003, of which he is
the President and CEO. He is also a member of ACI, ACHA, and USArchitecture.
